No, we knew what you meant- It's just hard to gain muscle and lose fat at the same time. In order to build muscle, you have to eat a lot of calories every day- And even though you should be eating healthy, clean food, your body will still store some as fat while you pack on the muscle. When you try to lose fat, you basically have to put your body into a calorie deficit- Give it less calories than it needs to maintain your current weight, and it will start to burn the fat as fuel. When you're in a calorie deficit, it's really hard to gain muscle, since you're taking away the building blocks of the muscle itself. Other than that, the weight bench looks decent- I know you were looking for something that was both affordable and didn't take up too much space. You'll get your money's worth out of it. The weights look nice too- You'll have to let us know what sort of routine that book has you doing.

Traps should probably be with shoulders or back. Some people do back/bis and chest/tris, while some do bis and tris together (which would put you at a 5 day split). Also, I wanted to point out that Straight Leg Deadlifts are more of a hamstring exercise, while regular Deadlift work the lower back, glutes, etc.

Personally, I always advise against triceps and chest, and biceps and back being done together. Tris and pecs are both used during bench presses, so your tris will be a little weaker when you go to work them, and vice versa- The same thing goes for back and bis. Try doing chest on Tuesday, legs and shoulders on Thursday, and biceps and triceps on Friday.

i think its a better idea to workout at the gym until you totally find out that working out is the thing for you... especially cause you're going in with so much energy... its people that dive in that like 5 days a week that are more likely to quit when they don't see results than those that start slow. so i really think it be a better idea if you tried a gym out, you will not have to spend so much money on equipment, you will have a better idea of what equipment to buy, and how to use it, especially because you will have a spotter, he can help you with form and save you if you die out...after all you are just starting out..
