Starting HST soon :D - Sunday, June 29, 2008 9:08 PM
I'm gonna go ahead and give it a try since a lot of people like HST here (from what I've seen, haha).

I'm not QUITE sure how to make the routine, so I'm gonna need some help here.

Exercises:

Legs:
Squat
Deadlifts

Chest:
Flat Bench
Incline DB bench
Dips

Back:
Pullups
Rows

Traps:
DB Shrugs

Shoulders:
OH Press

Bis:
BB Curls
Preacher Curls

Tris:
CGBP
Tricep extensions

Calf:
Calf Rise

Abs:
Weighted crunches

Anyways, those are the exercises. I've noticed that on the HST site, they just took their exercises and put them all together for 3 days, equalling up to like, a ton of sets a day, but the people on the boards do only a few sets. Does it matter which I do? I don't mind doing a ton of sets, btw.

I also need help with a general rep scheme in an 8 week cycle. Is it similar to smoundz HST?

i personally say don't waste your time with HST.

I'd research it first, and see what you think.  Hypertrophy is stupid in my opinion.  if you're doing it to get stronger, then it doesn't always happen that way.  there are two types of muscular hypertrophy: sarcoplasmic and myofibrillar.

during sarcoplasmic hypertrophy, the sarcoplamic fluid in the cells grow.......but you don't necessarily get stronger.  in myofibrillar, you do get stronger, but iwth minimal muscle growth.

so to me, it's a lose-lose situation.

No one replied, so I started trying something else other than HST. I might try it again later, though.

since then, i've kind of changed my mind, the "don't knock it till you try it thing" got to me.  you can try it, according to David it works great.....and david is probably one of the most intelligent people on the board.

so i;d give it a try sooner or later

it worked great for mcdlifter, silverfox and myself.  I gained a little muscle and got stronger while using it on a cut.  I think it is just a good tool to have in your toolbox.

sorry pssst,  didn't see your thread til just now.

i gained 27 pounds in about 4 months utilizing HST principles and a bulk diet.    and my workout partner (MDLifter) lost about 40 pounds utilizing HST with a cutting diet.   we both look great IMO.

PM me anytime with questions.  i'm more likely to see a PM b/c sometimes on the weekends i don't get a chance to go thru all the threads.

My name is FOX.... and I approve this message.

Im on my 4th HST cycle right now...I didnt even notice this thread...

I highly recommend it, cutting or bulking I have done both...and as long as your diet is sound you will get good results.

I would recommend doing Smoundzou's HST routine or something similar, stick with big compounds with isolations every now and then. Give it a try whenever you get around to it...lol
current 5rm On the texas method

Haha, alrighty. I'm gonna continue this cycle that I'm on right now, still. Maybe after, I'll look into HST again.
