Re:Chris Jones's Online Journey to Bulking and Packing on Muscle, (13 year old) - Tuesday, May 05, 2009 6:07 PM ( #16 )
lol thanks, connelly today i 'tried' to make and post some videos on my form, but I was having some camera troubles and such, so I will try again soon.

My Workout on Tuesday
Dead Lift
4 sets x 10 reps

Band Curl
3 x 10

Pushups
2 x 20

Power Clean
3 x 5

DB clean and press
2 x 5

Band Row, Band Press
2 x 10

Lat Pulls
2 x 10

Had some shoulder pain, so I skipped bench press, and overall went lighter on this workout. Going to do abs in a few minutes, if mah damn computer would work and I could watch some youtube videos on good form...

It' not the end of the world if you can't post video's. Just when your computer is working better try and look at some form video's on there for the lifts your doing.

Well today wasn't bad, but it wasn't good.

For some reason I did not feel like doing it at all, then when I was doing it it felt great, then I didn't want to do it anymore. Dunno. But will get back on track friday. Cleans and lat pulls went great, tried to stress tri's as much as I could. Worked out with a lot of protein in me, so it felt pretty good. If mah dang computer would work (smashin it right now) I could get back on track with my abs, on the exercises in supersets to do this week.

Lat Pulls (Reverse Grip) 50 lbs
2 x 5

Lat Pulls (Reg) 60 lbs
2 x 10

Pwr Clean 60 lbs
3 x 5

Band Curl/ Press
4 x 10

DB Clean and Press 20 lbs
2 x 5 x 2 (For each side)

'Assisted' butterfly curls 45 lbs
1 x 10

Also today at school went well. We had our football meeting. HC said he's really looking into me, wants me to be a leader. Probably have a lock at  safety or corner, as last year did a great job reading the field n had 2 picks in one game. But its just junior high football so it doesn't say much. Nobody came to camp in shape last year, including me. But if I continue with my program, could make it to weakside LB or maybe could be SS and play close to the line. I think I'll go strong on cardio closer to the season, for the mile and a half, which I did terrible in last year with like 15 minutes. Sucked. But today was pretty good.

You should try and bulk up alot, even for corner/safety I was around 120 lb. (30-32 lb. lighter than now) and felt small. Around here we have the best conferences in the football in the state though, but if you wanna play LB around here you better be 5'7" (at the lowest) and 170+ You sound like your doing a good job and your pretty in shape though.

Today wasn't so bad. I got some more omega-3 fish oils. Lifted pretty good. Power cleaned with ease, going to raise it up a few lbs next time. Workout went a little something like this:

Power Clean 3 x 5

Band Curl 3 x 10

Band Press 2 x 10

Lat Pull 2 x 8

Reverse Grip Lat Pull 1 x 10

Forward Squats 1 x 10

Weighted Sit ups then Regular Sit ups 3 x 10...going to do some more before I go to bed.

One Handed Clean and Press 2 x 10

Assisted Butterfly Curls 2 x 10

Leg Extension 1 x 15

Pushup Variations 30

Came upstairs and drank some choco milk, had an egg, a bannana, and an omega 3. Not too bad today.

Re:Starting Young - Sunday, May 17, 2009 1:10 PM ( #21 )
Well, today I went out and bought a new pull up bar, along with a protein shake shaker cup thinga merjigger. But I was also very convinced on buying some creatine. Now, I know that creatine is very good for muscle growth and recovery, but on the package it says x4 better than with out. So I went home and did a little research and it seemed as this was true for the most part. It was only 15 bucks for a big pack, don't remember how big it was though. What are your guys's opinions? It isn't the best of the best creatine, but its a start. Is it really that effective? All opinions will be appreciated.

Will post on my workout in a few hours.

hmm you say youre small for 13 but at that age I was definatly smaller than you.  Ive always been athletic too but back then I was skin nd bones.  I started lifting pretty hard right when I turned 17 and ive made a ton of progress in about 2 years.  If you keep it up youll be nothing short of a beast by the time your an upperclassmen.  good luck.

Alright, thanks Rollingstone. I pretty much am skin and bones, based on genetics. In fact, my brothers nickname (which seems like his real name more than a nickname) is Bones.

Just curious, what is your ab routine? You got a helluva pack and that is what I have been trying to find lately, a good routine. Been kinda skeptical on some of them. But if you could post what you do for ya ab routine, that would be great. How long it take you to get em like that?

Up to that picture which was last summer I never did abs.  I give credit to squats, deadlifts, and really low bodyfat for getting them.

I still dont do abs on a regular basis, maybe twice a month.

Well, this sucks.

2 days ago, i completely screwed up my finger. Left ring finger. Broke it, tore a tendon, killed my fingernail, killed a few nerves, broke at groeth plate, bone popped out, got 6 shots, have to take a crapload of pills, and got stitches. Probably will be out for the rest of the baseball season, and will get way back on my weight training routine. Can't really do much at this point.
This had nothing to do with weight lifting, I got it stuck in a dresser drawer handle and ripped it out. Gotta see doc in 10 days for a checkup. Might not need surgery. But I have no idea as to how much longer to recover. Dang.

13 is so young to be lifting heavy weights in my opinion it can mess with ure growth plates.... why not just stick to body weight excercies...running, burpees, pull ups, push ups, close grip push ups, chin ups, squat jumps
