Hi Dont know if i still count as a teenager or not, i juz turned 20 a 2-3 weeks ago. Ive started body building a few times but stopped only after a few weeks due to time commitment and also laziness hehe. I think i've finally built up all the motivation i need to have a new solid start to body building. I am 6'5 and i weigh around 165lbs. I'm quite skinny and I'm a bit unfit due to my uni work, havent been exercising much, but that's about to change. Another hassle of being a uni student is money, sometimes I dont eat enough or eat healthily enough but even when i do i hardly gain anything. I've been known to eat like a lunatic sometimes but my weight never shifts. Juz wondering if any of u have any pointers for me in terms of weight gaining and mass gaining. Thanks

http://www.discussbodybuilding.com/What_the_hell_is_a_calorie_anyway/m_135283/tm.htm More diet advice- read this link, it'll help you understand why you need the amount of calories you need- At the end, there's a link to a very helpful post with a bunch of different calorie calculators. One of the main keys to gaining muscle is patience- Sure, you may have eaten a lot before and gained nothing. The thing is, you have to make it a part of your lifestyle- Not just forcing more food down your throat for a few weeks and then giving up. If you consistently feed your body an excess of calories, in the right amount, and challenge the muscles with a training routine, it will eventually start to grow new muscles- It just takes time. From the day you start, you'll start noticing strength increases in the first few weeks, without new muscle. Within the next three months or so, you'll start noticing more actual muscle gain in the mirror. So- Calculate your calorie needs, then get back to us with the number, and we'll help figure out a muscle building meal plan.
