Squats - Knee - Wednesday, July 01, 2009 12:37 AM ( #1 )
I'm pretty sure I posted this, but I can't find it, so I apologise for the duplicate post.

I mentioned in the other thread that I have the tendancy to move my knees forward at the end of the squat. I remember in the book, Rippetoe says you can make most of the knee travel forward in the first 1/3 movement of the squat, and then the knee won't move much more forward for the rest of the squat.

However after looking through his replies on StrengthMill, it seems he suggests to "shove out" the knees at the end of the squat. How exactly does this help?

Thanks :)

I was just watching one of his video. Initially when his showing the people to squat down and using their elbows to shove the knees out into the right position.

However, when I try to replicate that, I can't seem to put my elbows between my legs, unless I take a wider stance, which I think is too wide. Anyways I tried it, and if I shove my knees out, the knees seem to pointing not in the same direction as the toes.

I notice that my lower back keeps rounding still if I try to get parallel. My flexibility sucks bad, but I've been doing flexibility exercises as much as possible.
