Spondylolisthesis....sucks

I have been having back pain for about 2 years and went to get an xray last week. The doctor saw a bony abnormality and diagnosed my with spondylolisthesis in my L3 and L4. I have a CT scan tomorrow to further diagnose any other problems and to see if i need surgery. The doctor said i cant squat, deadlift, or do anything that hyperextends or stresses my back. The only thing i can do now is bench and upper body lifts. I need to stay in shape though because wrestling season is about a month away. Can anyone help me or give me suggestions?

Doc will probably tell you not to wrestle, and after you get your results maybe he will actually go back on what he said about the lifting. I don't trust everything people say either, just because he is a doctor doesn't mean he knows everything about proper weightlifting and the effects on your body. Hopefully this situation can get figured out and you are still able to do the things you enjoy. Second opinions from more experienced professionals can help too.
