Soy Milk - Friday, April 09, 2004 9:41 AM ( #1 )
To make homemade soy milk, use this recipe my Chinese buddy gave me. You take

1 cup dried soybeans
3 cups water

in one bowl overnight (about 18 hours). Then you stick the soybeans with 1 quart of cool water in a blend, and BLEND!

Now pour the mixture through a cheesecloth to get out all the skins and curds. Finally, bring the milk to a warm but LESS THAN A BOIL temperature in a pot, because it can burn very easily.

Each serving (about one cup) has 76 calories, 8 grams protein, 3 grams fat (0 unsaturated). Drink warm.

I have a better way of getting mine.

1. Drive to store
2. Go to dairy section
3. Buy Soy milk
4. Go home and enjoy

and no chessecloth needed.

Yeah....
but they add preservatives and simple sugars to the stuff you buy in the store. this has no added sugar....
and if you're bored or can't drive to the store, you can make it yourself.

In all seriousness, that sounds like a great way to get some healthy drink.

Just don't buy cheap soybeans, or the milk will taste pretty nasty.
