What do you guys think of this stuff called Simply Gain made by EAS? I've read all the advertisements for it, but I haven't heard from very many people taht use it. The GNC lady told me it will make you bulk up like a football player look, adding a lot of weight everywhere...is this true? Here are the Nurtition Facts: Serving Size (g): 4 scoops Servings Per: 14 Calories: 630 Fat Calories: 40 Total Fat (g): 4 Sat. Fat (g): 2.5 Cholesterol (mg): 75 Sodium (mg): 350 Potassium (mg): 500 Total Carbs (g): 97 Dietary Fiber (g): 4.5 Sugars (g): 10 Proteins (g): 52 Creatine Monohydrate: 5 g L-Glutamine 1g L-Arginine 1g *L-Arginine—Included to increase blood flow for rapid nutrient delivery and to enhance uptake of nutrients into muscle tissue. *L-Glutamine—Accounting for more than 60% of the intra-muscular amino acid pool, glutamine plays an important role in immune system function and repair and recovery of muscle tissue. *5g Creatine Monohydrate—Included to further amplify the anabolic attributes of Mass Factor. What do you guys think of this supplement? Is the 5g of Creatine a lot at all?

I would never ask for advice from anyone who works at GNC... they are all idiots being paid on commission looking to make a sale (they have no background in the nutrition industry... if they did they would not be working at GNC). Simply Gain is an "ok" product. The pro are that you get a good protein shake and a creatine supplement all in one shake (convenience). The con is that it's not the best supplement out there (I've also heard it does not taste that good). You would be better buying a separate weight gaining supplement and a separate creatine supplement. 5g of creatine is fine. Some say 5g and others will say 10g. I think 5-6g a day is all you need though IMO. The best way to gain weight is to eat more calories then you burn. No supplement will put weight on you unless you are eating correctly. Once you're nutrition is on track then you can look for a supplement to help you progress more quickly.

I have a really good diet right now, and I eat really healthy with lots of home cooking. Should I worry about putting on too much weight? I want to put on Muscle Mass Weight, not fat...which I'm afraid that this product is gonna make me do. Will this really help with achieving more muscle mass? I lift at least 4 days a week for about an hour or so. I'm 6'0 160lbs.

Simply Gain will not make you fat. The problem with a lot of weight gainers is they recommend a serving of 800-1000 calories. That's great if you weigh 250 lbs and burn 4000 calories a day... but most of us do not have the metabolisms required to burn 1000 calorie meals. You can also cut their servings in half and that works well. You need to calculate how many calories you consume every day. Write them down. Everything should be on paper. If you cut the crust of your bread make sure to subtract those calories. Then monitor your weight. If you always eat the same and never change weight, you are eating roughly the same number of calories your body burns every day. To gain more mass consume 300-500 more calories per day then you already eat. Make sense? So if you burn 2000 calories a day and consume 2000 calories a day and you are not gaining weight nor losing weight, then you should eat 2300 to 2500 calories a day to start gaining weight. This would be broken down into 5 meals of 500 calories each. Weight gainers are great because instead of cooking a meal and sitting down to eat it, you can put some powder in a glass, add water, and drink it within a minute. You won't get fat by taking weight gainers... just make sure you know how many calories you are consuming per shake.

Simply gain is a good product. We sell it and have many regular customers that purchase the product monthly. If you want to give it a shot I say go ahead and try it. I think a high-quality creatine and a high-quality weight gainer would be better. They would taste better and give you better results. My recommendation would be the following: Creatine: Try V12 by SAN. I use it, my employees use it, and members of this forum have used it. It's a great creatine that won't leave you feeling bloated. It also has L-arginine in it which will give you a nice pump after about a week. You can read more about the product here: V12 by SAN Nutrition Weight Gainer: Try Massive Muscle Gainer by MRM. Only take 3 scoops instead of the 4 scoops the bottle recommends. This will be a complete meal for you. More info on this can be found here: Massive Muscle Gainer by MRM That should get you going in the right direction. If your heart is set on Simply Gain then you should see some good results from it. But I think my recommendation above will workout better for you.

Thanks for the info! That helped a lot. Do I really need to take that Massive Muscle Gainer? I think that V12 stuff would work alone.. Is the v12 just a really good Creatine powder? Cause i don't know what these are: Tricreatine Malate (Tri-Creatine Salt) N.A.G(N-Acetyl L-Glutamine) Betaine (Trimethylglycine) Glycocyamine NitroArginine(Arginine Alpha-Ketoglutarate) Taurine I know people ask you this all the time..but is this stuff bad for you?

No problem. The V12 is a creatine... it actually has 0 calories. Everything in it is safe to take so you don't need to worry about that. Do you really need to take the Massive Gainer? No, you do not. But you do need to eat 300-500 calories more then your body burns a day (5-6 small meals a day). If you have trouble eating that many calories or don't always have time for a meal, a weight gainer would be a good substitute (or an MRP).

when taking the V12 stuff, aren't you bulking your body weight up on water because of the creatine? I'm still debating whether to take creatine heavily or not cause i'm 18 years old, but everytime I ask the people at stores they tell me it will be ok since my arms and body is already fit, and they can tell i lift a lot. Should I be worried about the creatine? The lady at the store also told me today to screw the Simply Gain and just take protein. She said I will get a lot better results on taking a ton of protein rather than creatine...what are your thoughts?

Is this the same lady that told you to buy it? Why are you asking GNC questions about Supplements? No wonder you are confused. V12 will give you some pretty nice gains. It will add water weight... but you will gain muscle while on it. Protein rather then creatine? You should be consuming enough protein anyways if you are trying to bulk. If you weigh 150lbs you should consume at least 150g of protein per day. If you are not getting that much protein then a protein supplement would be good. If you are already getting enough protein per day, then get the creatine.

So your are both saying that Creatine is safe to take, if properly hydrated? What type of gains from V12 should you expect?

How long has this product been out? I just noticed that it is a newer product. Is that a bad thing since it's not tested as much?

"Additionally this creatine salt will not make you hold subcutaneous water like creatine monohydrate would since there is no water molecule in its chemical structure. All hydration will occur in the muscle cell. Also, Tricreatine Malate does not cause stomach discomfort and does not need to be loaded." Does this mean you don't have to worry about drinkin as much water as you would have to if it was the monohydrate?

I GOT IT TODAY! I was excited...but shocked how small the bottle was..cause it looks like the jumbo protein jugs in the pictures. The taste? omg..i don't like grape anymore.. but it's worth it. Some people have always said if it tastes like **** than it works. I normally lift from 3-4 regularly, probably 5 days a week. What do you recommend the dosage to be? Just once an hour after I lift, or is it more beneficial to drink one an hour before lifting? Thanks!

Well, the instructions say to take it 30 minutes before lifting (and then another scoop 6 hours later, but I've only been taking it once a day). I don't know if that's optimal, but it seems to work well for me... And next time you should get the orange flavor... it tastes just like Tang!
