I' m about to finish this semester at school and will be taking up BB 5 days a week. In addition I was wondering if I should take some of the pro-hormones on the market now? I' m 19, and will turn 20 in 2 months. I' m already taking creatine, L-glutamine, and whey protein.

You' re at the " fine-line" when it comes to that. At 19...i would say not just yet. the biggest decline in testosterone is between 20-30. So maybe wait until the latter half of 20 before really dipping into it.
because you have to remember, its the same as whey, glutamine or creatine. You can' t just try it for a couple weeks and move on to a new one. It takes consistent and regular use.

They aren' t " muscle builders" in the true science. All they do is elevate a certain hormone over baseline levels. And at 19, chances are yours already are.

Sorry, I left out one thing. Smile They do build muscle, but its because of the elevated hormones...a defining characteristic of testosterone is the increased muscle mass that men have over women.

So right now, you' ve probably got enough to do the job. Its in the next year you may consider it.

I guess I' m wondering why it will increase my testosterone after my natural levels have fallen, but not currently. Wouldn' t it increase my testosterone levels regardless? Or is there some sort of built in cap?

Women have enough to gain some muscle, and then men have more so they gain more muscle. Wouldn' t increasing the levels increase the gains? I must be missing something.Smile

You will most likely notice a difference. I' m 21 going on 22 and am currently taking 1-AD and 4-Diol. The results? AMAZING! I' ve been dropping BF% and gaining muscle very quickly. My energy levels have also been through the roof.

I do not agree with what Gator says about being young and pro-hormones not having much of an effect. I do agree that later in life (30+) pro-hormones will have a slightly greater effect... but you will still have noticeable results while young.

Should you take them at 19? DO THE RESEARCH! There' s a lot of possible side effects and things you should consider. If you are ok with the possible side-effects, then give them a shot. Best of luck to you.

Nobody said this.

Yes, it is a built in regulatory function. This is where all those " Side effects" come into play. You' re body will only allow for so much of any given substance in your body, Even water. Now you could take them and it would elevate your testosterone levels, but heres the catch.

When level get to high to fast, it under goes a process called aromatization, which converts it into estrogen. This is actually a good thing and critical to their effectiveness. But if you already have high levels of test, then the use of a high potency pro-hormone is most likely going to be converted into estrogen. If you are what people would refer to as a " feminine" male, this would be a serious problem.

In general, you can only elevate testosterone about 2x over base line. I can guarantee you thats where you are now. if not, really close. Testosterone does alot of things, but its main function in muscle mass is increased protein synthesis. at 19 thats all your body is doing, is churning out protein. You just need to eat right, get enough protein to fuel that process and stimulate muscle to grow with heavy weight. if your not getting at-least 1.5g/lb it may not be enough.

This I agree with. First, I think that one should be training for a sufficient period of time, such that they have made significant advances, before starting on PHs.

Second, the notion that ones hormone levels are sufficiently high that a " teen" need not use PHs is a fallacy. There are good reasons why most teens should not use them, this is not one.

PHs raise hormones to SUPRAphysiological levels. Period.

Do the reasons for not taking PHs in your teens change when you reach your 30' s?

Are the potential side effects and things to be aware of at 19 differ when you turn 30?

Would I notice (generally speaking we all know there are exceptions) some minor or major changes if I tried a 6 week cycle of a very simple beginner stack?

The risk/rewards are really not very different from a teen to an adult.

I have heard that growth plates can be effected, if not closed. That is about the only additional risk for a teen.

But as I have said, one should not venture into PHs, IMO, until they have trained serioulsy for a while, have diet and training down, and have researched the hell out of PHs.

Yes, most people experience significant growth in a 6 week cycle.

I' ve trained since 16 with weights. I' ve trained seriously the last 2 years. I went from around 155 to 188lbs.. Made some significant gains. I train 4 days a week, heavy, and just added cardio to the mix.

Recently, the last 2 months, I' ve been hardcore (okay that' s exaggerated) on the diet. Eating way more, eating clean, and eating more often according to a schedule. I' ve noticed a slow but steady increase in weight without the associated increase in bf%.

What I haven' t done is researched the hell out of PHs. And that is what this forum is about. That is why I created a forum specifically for PHs. It' s unique I think.

So I will be posting my newbie questions here often. Because if there was a perfect example of somebody who doesn' t know jack about them.. I' d be the poster boy.

Your knowledge in this area is apparent and I must tap into it. Smile
