Overweight...yes, according to BMI charts and such. Overfat...who knows? Many bodybuilders are " overweight" , but that is simply because of the density of muscle in comparison to the density of fat. I will assume that you want to find out if you are " fat" , and you cannot get a real answer without having your bodyfat measured. Do not rely on the bodyfat scales, instead have your bodyfat measured with calipers, by a qualified individual, or underwater hydrostatic weighing. Good luck.

Check out a good full length mirror, and if you personally don`t like what you see, make changes by dieting and exercising. Don`t go by weight charts,as they can be misleading.Be honest with yourself, the mirror never lies.

Agreed. I was reading the SF Chronicle and they said that one study found 65% of Americans to be overweight.

But technically, I' m 5' 8" and 180lbs. I' m overweight according to the charts. But I' m not overfat. I' m 16% BF and that isn' t bad.

So I' d go by the mirror, your diet and get your BF measured by a caliper or another more accurate method. Charts are a general measuring tool for the general public but if you are asking for a specific answer, you' ll need some specific facts for your body and not some general use chart.

Those charts mean nada. You need to go by the mirror and how you feel. Muscle weighs more than fat, so on the charts "buff", fit peeps can appear to be incorrectly obese. I weigh 155lbs at 5'10...I weighed 140 years ago and I look better now than I did then, due to more muscle. See? The scale and charts have lil meaning in comparison to the real picture;)

I highly recommend getting someone to take pics of you like in a bikini... then decide on your areas that need improvement
