Serios Mass gainer for my friend?
-
Saturday, October 04, 2008 10:40 AM
My friend is almost 16 weights 95 pounds and has around 3-4 percent body fat. He says he eats a ton of food. But its mainly soda and pizza and other junk food. Do you think taking a serios mass product would help him gain weight and muscle? Hes 5'9 or 10 and weights nothing. I was thinking of ON Serioes Mass or something? Would it hurt him in any way? Its just calories? Just asking so i dont get blamed for telling him to get something that is intended for over 18 years oldds.

alot of that probably has to do with metabolism and growing. Im 18 6'0" tall and only weigh 160 with 13" arms(no pump) and even that's only after recent gains, the reason being i have a very fast metabolism(digestion) as well with the genetics inherited from my parents i should peak my growth around 6'3" all this means is me and your friend burn many more calories a day then the average person couple that with working out and you need to consume even more. Heres some equations to figure out your calorie needs.(taken from mens health "big book of muscle" step1: your weight __x11 = basic calorie needs(without exercise) step2: basic calorie needs__x.5 = metabolic rate(calories required to function while idle) step3: your basic calorie needs__+metabolic rate__=__(calories needed to maintain current weight without growing muscle) step4: your maintenance total__+500 =__(total calories needed to grow muscle)

for example heres the math for my weight: step1: 160x11=1760 (calories i burn a day without exercise) step2: 1760x.5=880 (calories i burn metabolically) step3: 1760+880=2640 (calories i need to maintain my current weight) step4: 2640+500=3140 (approximate calories i need to gain weight) so i need to eat around 3000 calories a day, im currently taking "iso mass extreme gainer" with 2% milk it has 940 calories(150 from fat),72g of protein as well as a little bit of creatine and N.O. but this might not be suitable for someone under 18. other than that id suggest at least a gram of protein per pound of bodyweight.

Meta's making it sound a lot more complicated than it needs, if you're gonna get a point across never throw all those numbers at them Basically, yes, go for it, I would highly recommend ON Serious Mass Gainer for any hard gainer, especially at 3-4%bf. + That mass gainer's probably one of the best on the market and has the best value as well. Love ON. Seriously, tell him to get it, train hard, not do cardio, still throw food down his gob as well, and he'll get great gains.

or to save money and allow for your own nutrient and caloric amounts, just get some whole milk, peanut butter, quick oats and whey protein, through in a blender and drink.
