WA Mu portion of Madison Square Garden I have never been to see a show at that thater. I am going to see my ALL TIME FAVORITE BAND, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds! They rarely tour the US, so I am super excited, the last time He was on the east coast that I know of was 6 years ago, I had just quit my job, and could not afford to go. Does anybody know what the sound is like there? Where the sweet spots are, any part really crappy? How is the sound on the floor, as that is where I would usually be? I don't care at all about visulas, not that type of show, I care about the sound quality, a whole lot. Any tips New Yorkers??

Oh, the show is at MSG? I figured it would be at the Roseland Ballroom, that's a quality theater. The sound does indeed suck in MSG. Also, there are usually a lot of clean clothes cops in the audience busting people for smoking pot and all that, so be careful. Overall though once you get acustomed to the sound, you'll enjoy it. Stay a few nights and hangout.

Thank you for the advice. I am still going to go... if he adds a tour date closer to me I will go to that as well, hopefully a place with better acustics. But it doesn't matter I missed him 7 years ago, not 6 and this is his first US tour since, I can't wait another 7. So, I know what to do, first row on any tier if I can get it, or first couple rows. And cookies not burnables. Thanks for the heads up!! i am sad about the sound though, his more recent stuff is very heavily orchastrated. I might hang in NY for a couple days, I have a few people who I have been meaning to catch up with, and a few favorite museums I haven't been to in a awhile. It is not til October though..

Overall though once you get acustomed to the sound, you'll enjoy it. Nope, if your used to working in a venue with stunning sound for the shows that count, you never ever get used to crappy sound. It turns you into an annoying over opinionated snob. Bring an Ipod with you with all his songs on it, and put on whatever song he's playing then.
