Obviously, if you're eating chicken or fish, maranating the meat is probably your friend because it doesn't tac on too many calories, but is this the case?

Example:

Today I had a wrap from Wegmans ... Wheat Wrap, Grilled Chicken, Lettuce, Cheese, and Cesear dressing.

Is that Cesear dressing ok since it's a relatively small amount?

Another example ... I like to eat chicken each night, but I usually marinate it in BBQ sauce or Italian Light dressing ... in small amounts.

Is this ok?  Just curious

I have yet to come up with a strict diet because I feel it's too soon.  I'd like to just focus on eating better then I have before jumping into something that will really change my whole lifestyle.

youre right not to just jump into something so soon. thats why 95% of diets fail - people make such drastic changes to their lifesytles over night that they are unable to stick to them. just take out/add things gradually, and you will not only benefit in the long run, but will be much more likely to stick to it.
with dressings in a wrap, you need to ask yourself "do i really need it?" in my experience, they never improve a sandwich anyway, but its each to thier own i guess. for grilled chicken, i like nothing better than to marinate it in cajun spices, its absolutlely delicious

I have been buying the spray salad dressings and really like them, I always watch my fat intake and with these you can spray 10 times for only 1g of fat and 1 cal. The ones I bought are made by Wishbone and they have several flavors. They taste very good and that is the main thing. I have used the wine vinagrette flavor on lean steaks as a marinade as well and that tasted really good too. I also use the spray maragrines they really help alot and are fat and calorie free.

well if you spray on 1 gram of fat your going to spray 9 calories on. with salad dressings I go with a fat free or reduced calorie ranch on food and as for actual salad red wine vinager(its 2 am and I cant sleep due to acidental caffene overdose, freakin pouch drink mixes, (SP)).

I tend to treat myself with condiments here and there on beef I like a small amount of BBQ sauce, not much but enough to taste and I think it helps me stay honest with the rest of my diet. I think "I really want some ice cream" and then I go "no I had BBQ sauce on that burger." It works for me but I go to a dining hall every day where softserve poors from the walls like blood in a bad horror flick. So it may not be as big of a deal for you but its hard for me to everyday pass up the deserts and ice cream, cake pie cookies the 20 toppings we have for the ice cream. it sucks but the BBQ keeps me honest. So thats the lesser of 2 evils for me, IDK about you but if its the one eating joy you allow yourself I think it might be ok. and on some microscopic (again with the caffene) level it might hinder your progress but for a person with a life and a job outside of BB I think its worth it.
