Have any of you had a side effect of growing taller from taking steroids??  I have taken 3 cycles and grown taller!!!

If your serious I'd stop, read any article of any female body builder who used to take them, most of the time they'll say they wished they hadn't.

Definitely stop. It's just not worth it. You could experience unpleasant side effects which will be permanent.

well my doctor told me, shrink the testies (only while on them), make you steril (wont be able to have kids, sounds cool at 17 but at 28 and you want PimpWivGunZ JR. you wont think it was a good choice), It wont make your penis shorter, it can and will make your bones brittle(especially if you are under 18, at 18 your testosterone peaks), You could stop making test. naturally(I think), zits, crazy body hair, and you will grow boobs.(from elevated levels of estrogen(sp))

edit : we don't have this topic and I can't find it...just use google and you'll find what you want...and roids ans women is BAD BAD BAD...same for men.

Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege.

Glad to see all the anti-roid posts.  I just permanently left my previous favorite bodybuilding forum because we had a big blow-out over roids, me being the only one against their use.  People have a way of justifying their habits, no matter how destructive.  The short-term gains are not worth it. 

The side effects are pretty tough . For women your breast are suppose to get slightly smaller. You will also get heavy acne. this is what i have read up .

"10. Stunted Growth (height)
The use of some steroids can possibly stunt the growth potential of people who have not finished growing. This is only possible with certain steroids, and not with others. In fact, certain steroids have been used in clinical settings to improve growth rates in children. It is probable that the premature closure of the epiphysial cartilage, which is most likely caused by aromatizable steroids, will lead to a possible growth inhibiting effect, and could ultimately result in a shorter adult height. This most likely an irreversible side effect, as the growth plates would have sealed and can not "re-open". Anavar (Oxandrolone) has been used to improve the height of growth stunted children, and it is probable that most DHT-derived steroids could also be used for this purpose as could certain anti-estrogens. Speaking in broad terms, growth stops at the end of the teenage years...there is almost no chance to keep growing.
This is because lengthening of a bone occurs at the epiphyseal growth plates (called the "growth plates" in common parlance), the remnant of the cartilage model. It's capable of proliferating. In 99.9% of humans, the process of bone elongation ends at around the mid to late teen years. At this point, the growth plates are obliterated and disappear, after which no more elongation (typified by an increase in limb length, height, etc...) can take place. Elongation of the bone occurs here and at a second epiphysis at the end. The proliferation of the cartilage happens very quickly, actually fast enough to keep ahead of the bone generation that´s "chasing" it, called ossification, which is just the replacement of cartilage by bone. As long as the cartilage growth "stays ahead" of the bone, you grow taller, as bone replaces cartilage. When the bone finally catches the cartilage (because the cartilage slows its growth rate, not the bone), it ossifies, and "seals" the growth plate.

i take steroids too! ...but not anaoblic.....it's cortiosteroid (had to look it up on the internet, couldn't remember it)...it's prescription purposes, so nothing illegal..:D

good god what got in both your heads to make you deside its alright to take these god forbiding things there nothing but trouble when your older take old arnie for example hes around 60 or so and hes had heart surgey once or twice i dont care what ya say it was from doing steroids back in the day
 
they give you heart damage down the road and a little thing called roid rages where people throw fits over stupid thing s i know this because most the kids that lifted in high school did them and have been kicked out for that reason
 
and most of all its cheating you guys take the easy road when us "naturals" bust our a$$'s in the gym for results

Steroids are just a group of hormones produced from cholesterol. Estrogen is a steroid and many others. Corticosteroid is involved in a different area so you have nothing to worry about.
 
Taking testosterone is stupid. Your body contains receptors to make sure the right levels are in the blood. If there is too much your body will stop producing testosterone and you wont have it in high enough concentrations where you need it (testicles). So then you become infertille. And i also dont like those pills you take to increase your bodys ability to produce testosterone as that increase too will be detected and prevent more from being produced. The only way i see that it is possible is to stop those receptors from working but how would you keep the levels under control? Oh, and also testosterone is involved in baldness... what a pretty picture.
 
Personally i would prefer a normal smaller guy to some super buff fake guy with small balls and infertility etc. Being big shows the amount of work and time you put into it - its the journey not only the result.

Well I too am on steriods, local to the lungs and they do nothing to help my muscle.  I take advair, flovent and advent.........all asthma drugs.  I also used to use prednisone a lot from childhood to young adult although since the above meds came out, I now rarely get sick.  I do however have to supply notes by the dr. when competing in drug tested shows.
There are medical uses but roids are roids, like other illegal drugs, they do have beneficial purposes but get exploited by idiots using them for other reasons.
