a lot of people have suggested against usin this (elastic tummy wrap with velcro fasteners) sayin it constricts the body & internal organs, deprives the pores of ventilation, hard to breathe properly, does not contribute at all to losing belly fat etc.  but before, i used to use it when i do cardio and it helped trim my waist down, to avoid the downside, i never wore it tightly as all those negative claims point to this manner of wearing as being the cause.i never wear it when liftin. only when i do my 20 minute hi octane cardio sessionsSmile ...wdya  fellas think? thumbs up or thumbs down?

Hypnotised to realise that this surprise will end in demise in front of your eyes. Shining with lies you sent your spies, spat your alibies and your words rotted, rotted and attracted flies. Your boy cries but you proceed to fratenise with those baby blue eyes, eyes like the sky you pleaded for ties. Your stomach cries, and you envisionise a plate full of fries. Lord they are hot though, don't touch, I advise. But you are burned, and penalised, of course overdramatise and you get the prize. I am that boy baby girl and now I will end your 9 lives.

THe only thin g it does is cause a temporary loss of topical water.  Interesting effect..but fleeting.

Every test of these continues to show that they do nothing but make you sweat topically.  Water is necessary for fat burning so dehydrating is not optimal!

Buuuuut you do burn like 30 calories an hour with one on...and burning more calories is one way to lose fat...

To imply that this belt prevents fat burning by causing dehydration is absurd.  If you are doing a sufficient cardio workout and you are hydrated, you are going to sweat from a lot more surface area than just your abdominal section.

In addition, you should be drinking water or an isotonic electrolyte fluid during your workout to prevent dehydration.

As long as you are wearing the belt snugly and not tight, there should not be any problems with abdominal organs.  We use abdominal wraps post hernia and TRAM surgery in patients with large abdomens without any problems.  If you can't breathe because of loss of abdominal domain, then you need to stop smoking.

Use the belt if it helps you tighten your transversalis and oblique muscles.  People with stretched out abdominal muscles will benefit the most from it since stretched muscles aren't as effecient in contracting.

To reply to a post by calling another absurd isn't very nice- Even if you disagree, you could put things differently.
Anyway- You'll notice that danmirage also pointed out that you're supposedly burning thirty calories an hour just by wearing the thing.
I think Dan was simply pointing out that the weight loss due to topical water loss is not fat loss- And that water is very important to our bodies, and does play a role in fat burning.
