Rhomboid injury impairing my left side

Hi i'd love your thoughts on this one. About 3 weeks ago i was smith Machine Shoulder Pressing when i felt a twang in my left Rhomboid, I knew it was something that was going to annoy me. The next day i had trouble moving my neck. Had Physio who said i'd only minor pulled my rhomboid but the referred pain went into my neck ( left side ) and down my left arm. My left arm felt 'dead'. After a couple more physios i started training again but found my left side was half as strong as my right side. This is still going on although my injury is healing. my concern is: when am i going to be able to pump left side as much as right. Is it my body telling my left side not to work as hard because it's been injured? Obviously i don't want to see my left side wither while my right side develops well. Or is it simply a case of stop training til i'm fully healed? Which would be a real pain!
