Hi all i have just rejoined a gym after a break of ten years, I have started a arobic program for my fitness, with the intention to pump iron once more, i am 42 by the way. I have been going now for a few weeks and i had my first weight traning session this week, and boy am i hurting, my chest is really killing me, lol i can't lift myself out of the bath, the thing is i really found the workout quite easy, so i don't feel like i have over done it, so how can i help myself to get over this pain, after workouts and it has lasted 3 days up to now, hope this makes sence and can i take anything to help recovery.

try eating a couple of bananas. Works like a charm for me- And don't worry. As you know, your body will get used to it quick enough, and you won't feel this sore all the time. Also- Why not post something about your diet and routine?

stretch after your sets, this will help, magnesium also is good to help relax muscles. Ensure you warm up and cool down as well. Linda
