For resistanced crunches/situps would u put the weight behind ur head or in front of your chest?

You place the weight on your chest, but I think it depends which ones you are doing because if you are using the machine to pull http://www.ast-ss.com/training/exercises/execution.asp?bp=Ab&pn=9 then this would be weight behind your head, but if you are doing crunches on the floor then weight on the chest is the proper way to go.

Buy a swiss ball, and do crunches on them. You'll get a more range of motion doing it on a swiss ball.

If all else fails, climb on a decline bench and put the weight on your chest, it burns hardcore dude.
