Recovering from a Hernia
-
Wednesday, November 08, 2006 4:23 PM
I recently got a hernia about about 4 weeks ago, at that time though I didnt know it was a hernia, I just assumed I might have injured myself and the pain would go away eventually. I waited for about 3 weeks (I didn't excercise for those three weeks cause I didn't want to make what I thought was just an injury worse), the pain would come and go, one time the pain went away for a whole week. Then one day I noticed a small lump on my lower abdomen. So I decided to make an appointment with my doctor. He checked the lump, and he said it was definetly a hernia. I got surgery just today. So I'm recovering my right now. I was wondering, ssare there anyways for me to recover from the surgery as quickly as possible? And how can I prevent a another hernia from happening in the future?
Stats so far.... Age: 16 Weight: 153lb Height: 5'7"

Take your time and heal properly. I wouldnt rush back in to soon. Set backs happen. Stick to the fundamentals of form, to breathing, and respect the weight you move. learn to know your limits. This way, you can push them to new levels safely.
