I am the father of a 16 year old son who is strongly urging me to let him take creatine and/or a Beta-alanine product to aid his strength and performance for sports. I have said no to date because the products state that they are not to be used by anyone under 18. I would like to get some feedback on this issue. Is it save for a 16 year old using a lower "dosaage" or not?

It is perfectly safe for a 16 year old to use a regular dose of creatine in am 16 and i take many supplements. Creatine is just the same as eating 20 pounds of meat a day. It is a SUPPLEMENT so therefore it is already in your body. Taking it will most likely help him gain strength and waterweight but not harm him at all people are to scared of creatine and it is not at all dangerous IMO. If you feel so strongly about this matter do not let him take creatine but instead get him on a more natural stack, like some nitric oxide, protein, multivitamin, etc. But overall from a father stand point it is perfectly safe.

it is safe, if you keep up the hydration. i dont know very much about beta so i cant help you there. however, they are just supplements and are not going to change much of anything if your son is not on a proper diet and good training. How long has your son been working out? at 16 i dont think creatine is going to make a huge impact anyways, just in my opinion

Save yourself some money....There is absolutely no need for a 16 year old kid to take creatine or any Beta-alanine products. Put him on a good multi-vitamin, a good diet, and if needed, let him supplement with whey protein post workout. too many kids are taking unnecessary supplements.....at 16 his test levels should be going throught the roof.. no need for anything...

Of course it is safe, as long as you use the product correctly.

Also one supplement leads to another, you say yes to creatine and then you have opened the door.

16 year olds do not need creatine. I would wait until he is 18, that is what I did before I starting taking any supplements.
