Questions about compound lifts - Friday, May 22, 2009 2:40 PM ( #1 )
I am looking to incorporate squats, power cleans, deadlifts and presses into my workout routine. How often should I do these exercises?

Should I create a day dedicated to compound lifts or fit each in with it's muscle group when I work that group?

How long have you been training? The amount of weight has an effect on your CNS, squatting 135 three times per week is a lot different than squatting 315 three times per week.

I have been lifting seriously for about 3-4 months, I'm just starting these exercises too so I'm not sure how much I'll be putting up.

I would do each movement twice per week. Deadlifts, squats and benches.

Example

Day 1
Squat
Bench
Row
Pullup

Day 3
Deadlift
Press
Dips
Chins

Day 5
Squat
Incline Bench
Deadlift
Power Clean
