Hey guys, for those of you who used Optimum Anabolics before, what does Jeff Anderson means when he said 20 minutes of HIIT workout? does the 20 minutes he asked us to do includes the 5 minutes of warm up and another 5 minutes warm down or doesnt? i mean is it warmup/down 10 minutes + 10 minutes of workout = 20 minutes, or 10 minutes of warmup/down + 20 minutes of workout?

Also for the progressive load phase, after I add one more set for each week, am I suppose to go to muscular exhaustion on only those last sets that I added or on all sets that I do?

On progressive load you go to failure on all sets.

I'm not sure about the optimum anabolics program but progressive load means to gradually increase weight from either workout or working set. Progressive load has nothing to do with going to failure.

If your 10 rep max on flat bench is 225 the following would be considered progressive load even though your not maxing on the lift

Example 1 of progressive load
Workout 1
1X10X155
1X8X175
1x6X195
1X4X205

Workout 2
1X10X165
1X8X185
1X6X205
1X4X225

Example 2 of progressive load
Workout 1
4X10X195

Workout 2
4X10X205

workout 3
4X10X215

If using a program that recommends going to failure on all sets.. I would suggest dropping the program because it will only lead to injury.  If using going to failure as a training tool, it should only be used on selective lifts and only on the final set of the lift, and only for a brief time.
