Question of some personal importance - Wednesday, April 28, 2004 7:29 PM ( #1 )
I couldnt really find a good place for this post, but oh well.

I've been working out for about 4 months (steadily, I did sporadically for the past year or two). My chest is getting firmer, less fat and more muscle. But if its good somewhere, its bad somewhere else. I have a crazy band of fat around my abdomen, and though I diet and exercise it actually seems to be getting bigger. If not bigger, it seems looser. Is it possible that when the muscles form underneath it, it makes the fat protrude? I don't wanna give up the hope that I was doing something right. Just yet.

Yep. It's possible. It's also possible that if you are eating a more of a bulking diet, you may actually be adding some fat while you add muscle. It's all part of the standard bulk/cut cycle: add a lot of muscle and a little fat, then lose a lot of fat and a little muscle. Lather, rinse, repeat...
