Could someone describe to me the difference between whey protein that you buy at gnc and proteins that you find in foods you eat. for example I drink a LOT of milk which is pretty high in protein. What would be the difference between having a protein shake and drinking three glasses of milk? Thanks for any help. I hope this wasn't to ignorant of a question.

Milk doesn't have TOO much protein man, my protein shakes have around 60g. I'd rather drink the shake than spend 5 minutes chugging milk, and then throw up. Ever had to chug milk? They use it for hazing... but i degress... protein powder makes it easier ;)

I was just using an example that would have a comparable amount of protein (48g). What I wanted to know is are there different kinds of protein with different effects on your body or is protein protein?

Yeah there are different kinds of protein like 100%whey like ON 100% and blends of different proteins like casein, egg, soy etc. for more sustained absorbtion like synta 6 or muscle milk. Did you just say you get 48g of protein from just milk? So at 8g a cup, you'd have to be drinking like 6 cups a day.

I'm pretty sure I just said that I didn't mean for it to sound like I often chug milk glass after glass. I do however drink a glass of milk (2 cups each) with 3 of my 6 meals each day wich comes out to 48g of protein. It's not hard to do if you love milk like I do.
