Well, I used to only eat about 30-60 grams of protein a day. Now I eat on average 100-130. But nothing it happening! I've been eating this much for a few weeks now but still allmost nothing. Here are my before stats. Age: 13 Height: 5 2 Weight: 95 Biceps: 11 inches around Chest: 22 inches Shoulders: 18 across After: Age: 13 Height: 5 3 Weight: 105 biceps: 12 inches Chest: 25 inches Shooulders: 19 across. I grew an inch in height, but I don't think that was becuase of my new diet.

I'd say don't do any of that. You're only 13 years old. You're still way too young to be getting serious! Wait another few years, then ask these questions. It's for your own good dude. Could you see why people might be giving you this advice? Why we might be discouraging you from entering into a "sport" like this? You should really speak to your parents and even research on the internet about the dangers of committing yourself at such an early age. It really scares me how many people are wanting to start really young and just thinking about the damage it could well do to them. (or you for this instance).

These are good gains. You think this stuff appears overnight? It doesn't. If it did, nearly everybody would have huge ripped bodys. Adding an inch to your biceps in "a few weeks" is really really good.

Don't disregard it. You are really too young to start going crazy about gaining mass. You need to begin to really grow naturally and then you can do more. If I were your parent, I would tell you to play sports, perhaps do some pushups, pullups, chinups, etc. I wouldn't have you taking supplements or doing weights until you were around 15 -- depending upon how fast you mature. It is good that you want to get into this, but I would take the advice given you here so you don't do any damage. Good luck to you!

No Quarter is right. I guess I'm just expecting to much in to short of time. Also, dimyd, and SteveO. I know exactly what I'm doing I read many body building books. Protein is very natural, I don't use any steroids or anything like that. I wanted to get creatine but my parents wouldn't let me buy it, so now all the creatine I get is from the smoothie shop. There aren't many dangers working out at a young age. Unless you over do it. Whitch I don't, except when I do endurence work outs every few months. I do do push ups, 100-300 a day. I also play soccer, and basket ball. I have talked to my parents and they don't care. My father (an X simi-bodybuilder) incurages me. He was working out when he was my age and now he can bench press 400 pounds! So even though many people have told me to slow it down I will continue to work out. I am glad that you and others care about my health but bodybuilding is a big part of my life I put hours of my day into it. I've gained a lot from my original 80 pound skinny body that could only bench about 115 pounds. And I wish to continue to gain. So thanks for the advice but sorry.

Your diet is probably definitely doing your body good, but it is using it the way it needs to right now, and not the way you want it to.

ya dude i added an inch to my arms in a couple weeks and im so excited. if u can just keep going you will see the results. as for being to young to lift i think that 13 is alright as long as you dont over do it because if you hurt yourself at that aged your done for life. and i think its ok that u take protein shakes, but as for creatine and NO and stuff like that, i would hold off, im 16 and all i take is a protein drink and its working fine for me!

Let's not turn it into one of these posts again. We're here to share advice not critique eachother's numbers.

Ryan “Bench Monster” Kennelly can bench press 800 pounds and he weighs like 200 pounds. Why can't I bench 200?

Dang dude those are great stats over a few weeks. You added a inch to you arm which is a good sized arm for your height and weight, 3 inches to your chest, an inch to your shoulder. How much weight have you increased in on your sets? And 115 isnt too bad for being 13. You see how much you gained in this short time just think how much you can gain in a year! After awhile your gains will probably slow down, but don't worry your still going to get good gains. Ask your dad how much he was doing at your age his size... Don't expect so much you just started.
