ORIGINAL: snipDip Ingredients: 1 banana 1 tbsp pf protein powder(or recommended amount) 1/2 cup of yogurt 1 cup of nonfat milk Why do you put yogurt and milk both in there? It's like 2 of the same thing. I make: 1 banana 1 cup strawberries 1 scoop whey 1 cup milk Blend fruits and milk together. Then add scoop of protein and blend again. You will have a yummy strawberry-banana smoothie :D

Yogurt helps give the smoothie a thicker and creamier texture. Also, the bacteria that turn milk into yogurt do so by fermenting the lactose into lactic acid - thus yogurt has less sugar than milk (unless it's sweetened yogurt). I made a delicious smoothie yesterday when I was in a pinch for a quick-to-prepare meal: 1 cup milk (low or non-fat) 1 cup low-fat kefir (yogurt would be fine, but kefir is even better) 1 scoop vanilla whey 1 cup frozen raspberries Blend the milk, kefir and whey in the blender until they're well mixed. Throw in the raspberries and pulse the blender until they're well broken up and mixed in, but not pureed. Very simple and you get a super-ultra tasty-creamy fruity smoothie, plus 11 grams of fiber!
