OK this is something that I think deserves its own post. Leslie posted it first and I got the recipe from her (Do a search and you can find it) 1/2 cup oats 1/2 cup Fat Free Cottage Cheese 4-5 egg whites 1 scoop protein powder (vanilla) Blend until batter consistency. Then pour into a frying pan like normal pancakes. Thats the basics. You can add your own items for flavoring... for example mix in 1/2 cup blueberries after blending. (Blueberry pancakes) Or try adding a half a bannana before blending for bananna flavored pancakes. These are really easy to make up ahead of time too so you can have a nice protein heavy breakfast without alot of morning prep. (They are alright for snacks too) I like lite syrup on mine. (I'm trying to find sugar free syrup) Let me know how this works.

Some great sugar free syrup can actually be found in the coffee aisle as a coffee sweetener. You can get several flavors, Vanilla, Hazelnut, Maple, etc. Good recipe though, thanks.

Husband and I have just had these pancakes this weekend twice and they are great. Because we eat low GI carbs only, regular pancakes have not been in the diet for the last six months even though hubby makes them often for the children at weekends. The oats do the low-GI trick and sometimes it's really hard to get the protein in the breakfast to as time is limited. I was getting bored with porridge and a hard boiled egg OR two poached eggs and mushrooms lately so thought we would find some other options. Thanks for that. The more I study this DB site the more useful it becomes. Jill

Well I made some this morning with mixed results. IMO, I think they have too heavy of an egg overtone. It's like pancakes had an offspring with eggs and the eggs had the dominant genes. I think it should have a little more oats. Then again, I can't cook worth $hit, so... My GF, said she'd perfect it (at least for us, LOLOL, I know everyones tastes are different. Also, I'm pretty confident in my assessment that the type of protien powder used can make a big difference. I used Optimum Whey, which in my opinion, tastes like a$$!!!! I think anyone who actually likes the taste of Optimum Whey (Vanilla at least) should have their head examined. Personally the best protein shake I've EVER had (not even noting flavor) is MRM's line. But I'm going to use Isopure as I like the superior protein and their taste is pretty damn good. quote:
i wish i could have sugar free sweetners :-\ I had some of Smuckers sugar free syrup and I almost coudln't taste the difference to the real stuff...VERY VERY GOOD!!!!!!!!!!
