Is it alright to still be drinking protein shakes if I'm trying to lose fat?

Sometimes it can be more important when you are dieting, as you may be shorting yourself on too many protein calories to maintain the gains you have made. When dieting, try to lower the simple sugars and processed foods, as these are quickly converted into fat and are not very satifying through the day. Stick with high fiber carbs, good fats, and clean proteins.

ORIGINAL: crayZkid What kind of protein shakes do you mean, whey, casein, MR? A protein blend would be ideal for between meals. whey isolate post workout. I would use soy in small dosages only. It has been shown to have some ability to raise thyroid output (helpful in burning bodyfat of course. However it has a biological value of 74.where whey is 104 and also have some estrogen properties. Good for woman. Not good for men. We want our test levels as high as possible *** Biological Value Measures the actual amount of protein deposited per gram of protein absorbed. As a rule, high BV proteins are better for nitrogen retention, immunity, IGF-1 stimulation, and are superior for reducing lean tissue loss during various wasting states than their low BV counterparts
