Protein before bed? - Wednesday, October 07, 2009 8:00 PM ( #1 )
Hey Guys,

A lot of bodybuilders are recommending that you take a protein shake before bed if you are bulking.

.

However a Sports Nutritionists told me to avoid this because the protein will make you alert, thus finding it hard to sleep.

She basically told me that if you are bulking, the idea behind a shake before bed will lead to stored FAT leading to weight gain, She also said that most protein shakes have added vitimin B which should be avoided at night all together for the same reason that it helps stimulate the mind.

Any Advice or feedback.

I eat cottage cheese when i have it. Otherwise i mix some whey with milk. Mixing with milk helps it absorb slower, acting like a faster casein i guess.
BULKING LIKE A BEAST! AND IT FEELS SOOOOO GOOD!

I consume protein shake everyday before I go to sleep. I sleep like a baby and does not find it hard to sleep.

Protein intake should be done when you wake up, 60-90 minutes before your workout, after your workout and before going to bed. Casein is your bet for protein source before going to bed, while whey should be your choice on the first three instances.
