Problems with wrist
-
Friday, October 01, 2004 2:57 AM
I have had a problem with my wrist for the past few years and now that I have begun to weight train it has become worse. The pain mainly hit when I would do push-ups and now when I bench press or do any other exercise that requires me to put weight on my wrist, it id painful, kind of to the point to where my wrist weakens. I have a little gadget that I squeeze to try to help with this problem, but I have not been using it long enough to tell a difference. Can aanyone offer any suggestions as to help eleviate this problem? Thanks!

Sure, go see a doctor. Pain is your body's way of telling you there's something wrong, listen to it. If you try to work through the pain, you're most likely going to aggravate the injury and make it worse- Maybe much worse. So go see a doc, take a couple of weeks off of training, let it heal properly.

Going to see a Dr. is a good idea man... and then when you decide to come back to training you may want to invest in some wrist wraps for your bench work. I think they would help you big time. I think that some people are really prone to wrist injury when benching for some reason. Something about how they position the bar, almost high in thier palm instead of a perpindiclar line with thier forearm. Don't know if that made sense...
