Safe and effective prohormones are designed to raise testosterone levels and facilitate muscle growth, while slowing muscle loss (catabolism). In an effort to educate our community, I' ll be collecting and looking for great sources of information regarding pro-hormones. This will not be limited to but will include: - What are Pro-Hormones?
- How do I use them?
- What is a stack?
- What are some side-effects?
- Are they safe?
- Where can I learn more about them?
DO NOT post about steroids or sources. This forum is dedicated to pro-hormones only. Being new to the subject, I' d like to increase my knowledge and share as much as possible so that we can get the right information to you quickly and all in one location. These supplements are not to be taken lightly. You will need a sufficient amount of knowledge and understanding before just popping some pills. Please read the articles and links in this forum and post your questions. Taking pro-hormones requires education and a responsible attitude. It' s not just downing another protein shake.

There is no such thing as a "safe" prohormone. They all some or maybe all the side effects as steroids.

I totally agree. When using pro-hormones don't take more then the recommended dosage. Depending on the manufactor, the delivery system of the supplement and side-effects varies too. I recently took 1-Test in the beginning of December. I improved from working out with 155lbs - 205lbs in a about 2 months. In December I weighed 143lbs and by the end of January I weigh 150lbs. I also gained 3/4 of an inch on my arms. Wether that is a big improvement for this product- I really don't know. Although this is my first time taking it, it may also be my last - b/c I've investigated many pro-hormone products and found this one had the least side effects - potential hair loss!!- which is the side effect for every pro-hormone product so far that I have seen. Also, I noticed I was more moody then normal and I almost got in a couple of bar fights! But I was alot more agressive on the weights then usual. I recommend using pro-hormones only if you're working your ass off at the gym and have made only minimal or no improvements. If you're a 1 hour a day 2-3 times a week gym person - you would be wasting your money on pro-hormones or on any other supplements.

No, I didn't experience any shrinkage. . . and I have too much hair to go bald. But other pro-hormones have much more side-effects then the one I took.

Side effects is not the same for everyone .... company and study give a list of "Possible" side effects. but nothing says that you will have side effects and nothing says that you will have none side effects.

Nothing that plays with your hormone levels can guarantee "no side effects."

I do agree that PH's are not for everyone. I also believe that side effects if any, are greatly related to genetics. I am currently taking 1-Test and I am in the finishing 2 weeks of a full cycle. Maybe I am lucky, or again just genetics, but I have not seen or noticed any side effects at all. I have not had any acne break outs, no temper or anger problems, no imsomnia, no shrinkage or labido problems. To be honest, my sex drive has increased with absolutely no problems with let's call it (rising to the occasion). I have noticed good increases in max weight and strength with acceptable size gains. I am by no means a "bodybuilder" or have the urge to be one. I am interested in gaining about 15-20 lbs of lean muscle. Just as an example, in this first cycle I have gained in my bench from 225 max to 315 max in less than 3 months. Most all my other gains are similar to percentage in bench gains. I've gained over 3/4 inch in my arms also. I do not know if those are "great" gains for this product or not, or even how much natural development has played into this. The other side of this coin is that I do know someone who attempted 1-Test and could not continue to take them due to side affects. This is by no means an educated diagnosis, just my experience with PH's thus far. It's all a risk to take no matter what PH you take if you so choose to take one. Eveyone who has the curiousity to take PH's should consider what his or her goals are. The main and only reason I started them is because I am 6'2 and I have always had big problems with gaining lean mass. No matter what I did I seemed to not be able to gain weight in lean mass. I made the decision to take PH and guess I was lucky with the results. Just do your research before you jump into something like this.

I tried 1-AD & 4-AD together in a stack for about 3 weeks and noticed pretty good results with no side effects that i noticed. I went from doing sets ouf 5 at 205lbs to 225 of my sets. I've been off it for 2 weeks and no strength loss that i noticed.

Not to split hairs, but in the interest of accuracy not all hormones are steroids. Growth hormone and insulin are protein based hormones, thyroid hormones are iodine and tyrosine (an amino acid) based. And not all steroid hormones are anabolic, some are catabolic... cortisol, for example is a catabolic steroid hormone. Cortisone is a corticosteroid as are epinephrine and norepinephrine and a host of others. And then you have the hormones of the pituitary (lh, fsh, prolactin, acth, adh, tsh) which are not steroid and signal the release of other hormones. Lots of different types of hormones, and different steroid hormones too.
