Powertec WB-MS - Wednesday, April 07, 2004 5:14 PM ( #1 )
Hi everyone, I am just new here. I bought a Powertec WB-MS 3 weeks ago and really love it. It makes a nice compliment to my collection of free weights. Anyone else have one of these and if so let me know what you think. I have figured out how to do some extra exercises if anyone is interested PM me. I've been been working out on and off for about 7 years, after getting married and having two children I used that as an excuse to not train, so I went out and bought a bunch of free weights a couple of years ago and started up again, now I have the Powertec and loving it, no excuses now

I was torn between a Powertec power rack or the wb-ms, but settelled for the wb-ms for the variety of exercises plus safety as I always workout alone late at night in the dungeon (basement lol)...So far I really love the wb-ms, one thing I find is I can truly lift to failure on this machine and I have found it gives me a lot more muscle soreness the days after (especially in Chest)......

I just finished putting it together last nite...I'm very happy with it.  Only disappointed with the exercise illustrations - I wish it illustrated how to do more.  Looks like titan has uncovered some additional exercises.  Waiting to hear from him.

I almost bought the leverage system about a year ago. I ended up getting the Powertec workbench rack with the lat tower. There's no doubt that it's a much more versatile option. I can do just about everything with it.

Well, I hadnt realized people even posted on this thread until I received a PM a couple of days ago. Still have the WB-MS and still love it...so one of the exercises I do is a tricep pushdown with the lat station, by standing on the seat facing the backrest, grab the lat bars with an outward facing grip and kind of use my body weight to get it in the starting position, then I just push it down to my waist, let it come back up til my elbows are about 90 degrees then back down again.....works the triceps great, but I would use caution and control with this exercise as the top position of the lat bar is way higher than your shoulders can handle if you're my size (5'7").....maybe I'll post some photos to show you what I mean....

Another exercise is to use the bench station to do dips, I counterweight 2 45lb plates on the squat station, then I put the bench bar assembly to the top so it is now perpendicular to the floor, then grab the bench handles near the weld so that my palms are facing inward, and just do dips normally.....if the bench is getting in the way adjust it to the decline position....really only works well for shorter guys like me, but still is possible if you bend your knees.....

Godzmarine: Ya I agree with you totally man, but I already have this and been using it for almost 5 years now, no injuries what so ever...but I am cautious in my approach and don't let my ego get in the way of my lifting. I really like the Powertech power rack system though, great buy!! Since I'm married with 2 kids I always workout alone in the basement, usually late at night or when the kids are in school, so safety is my number 1 priority, and the powertec leverage equipment fits that bill nicely....cheers

LOL...Ya it's pretty big, but when you put three different workout stations on a piece of home equipment it's gonna be huge....lol...definitely not for the apartment!
