Post Shredded Wheat...... - Monday, November 05, 2007 8:45 AM ( #1 )
Is there any reason i shouldnt eat "post plain shredded wheat cereal" as a form of carbs for my mid-morning meal?  They have no sugar and only 1g of fat, plenty of protein and fiber to boot. They Its just easy for me to keep in my desk as i can't cook up any oatmeal.  I know there are alternatives but i like to keep at least a minimum level of variety.  Thanks in advance!

IMO, it's just as good as oatmeal (if not quite as cheap.) Similar nutritional profile, whole grain, minimally processed, packed with fiber.

Oatmeal = oat groats that have been sliced up, steamed and passed through rollers to flatten them out into rolled oats.

Shredded wheat = wheat berries that have been steamed and passed through rollers to create strands that are bundled into little biscuits.
