Any idea's for a poor man's equipment. I do have dumbells. I am a weak person so I only do 3x5 of 15 in both hands same time. I don't think that will cut it for what I am aiming for any ideas?

I'd say save up for a gym membership..I mean by me there are 3 gyms..the higher class one for rich people, the average one for normal people, and the one that is crappy. But hey a gym is a gym and if you even go to a crappy gym you can stil lworkout effectively.

Craigslist owns, used equipment stores are good too. If you find a nice guy who doesn't want his stuff anymore, you can probably get it quite cheap. If I were in your position, I would use the dumbells for harder crunches, id be doing pushups, slightly weighted squats, just about anything I could do with the dumbbell! Be glad you aren't useing a pillow case full of magazines and a backpack full of railroad ties like I was. :P
Small fridge and a surdy chair, desk, etc, and you can start dipping, just be careful, the fridge is probably going to wobble a bit.
Calisthetics, etc.

An old thread.

You can make it work if you try, just make sure its safe and sturdy before you start using it. I used an old rake/broom stick to practice squat form with, (Do not try to put the stick over your head with anything attached to it, very risky and damaging!!!), You can probably fill milk jugs with water and tie them to each end of the broom stick and curl it.

Might I also add that a Doorway chinup / pull up bar is only $14-$20 US dollars.

Crossfit and Rosstrainning are also good for low budget...

Another idea, cut down a tree, cut it into a few blocks, sand it down, throw a soft towel over it and you have a Flat bench, make a few angled blocks and you got decline. Probably won't work well, and you would need a solid tree...

Check out my website! I'm not trying to sound like an ad but I have a whole section dedicated to how to make your own workout equipment for way less than buying it. It's called Alternative Fit - link below.

you could buy a scale, some buckets and some sand and fill the buckets with 10 - 20 - 30 pounds of sand, attach it to a bar and lift that.

If craigslist didnt work, definitely try local classified ads. There are always lazy people getting rid of perfectly good equipment.

just make sure whatever you buy is olympic size, I made the mistake of buying this crappy bench a few years back and it wasnt wide enough. Craigslist should be checked daily for like a month, I am sure you will find more than a few deals. Last month I got 2 olympic bars, a curl bar, a squat rack, a bench press and 360 ppounds of weights for 150$. somebody will want to get rid of stuff quick you just have to be patient.

All you need is a power rack, a barbell, and some weights, maybe a bench too.  Total cost $500 new.  Used.....Maybe around $300.
