I'm not sure why you're cutting. I'm sure from where you were you look awesome. Dont take this personally, at all. But I see almost no serious muscle mass. You said that you want to be more defined, but I predict you're going to be cutting for a really, really long time. Like the rest of your life if you dont start to put slabs of meat on. If you put on 15-30 lbs of muscle you would be much happier when you did cut down. That and the weight would come off much faster after the gain. If you're worried about gaining too much fat just bulk clean. I would assume that the number of calories you need is low, so a clean bulk is going to be fairly easy to accomplish.

As somebody thats just starting out I think it may be too advanced. Thats just my personal oppinion. If I were to start I would bench, squat, dead lift, you gotta do the curls to get the girls, bent rows, pulldowns/pullups, calf rasies, and ab work. Maybe, maybe thrown in some skull crushers. But as far as 156 reps for chest, 120 reps for triceps, and so on. That program has good mornings but not deadlifts? Really? It seems to be an "advanced" program to me.

very few. I mean you're going to gain fat. Its just going to happen. But your metabolism is going to be a lot faster once you have that much muscle so the fat you gain isn't going to be a big deal, it will come off pretty quickly. The amount of fat you gain will depend on your diet. How clean it is, is going to determine how much you gain. I think its your best bet.

General rule of thumb is 1-2 gram(s) for every lb of weight. I like the idea of 1-2g's per lb of muscle. It makes sense to me. I think most people try to shoot for 40%P 40%C and 20%F. You're going to need the P and C to gain. The Fat you need for basic function. Try to keep them mostly healthy fats, and you'll be ok. The best way to guage progress is through Body fat calipers, you can buy them online, the last time I went to GNC (almost a year ago) they had some there, they were overpriced but I walked out with them. If you know your BF% when starting and you eat and lift the entire week and at the end of the week you weigh 1-2 lb(s) more and your BF% is the same then you've probably gained 1-2lbs of muscle. Calipers also take into account hydration, so its important to be accurate that you do this at the same time after drinking the same amount everytime. If you do this right after you wake up and do your moring stuff is good. If you gain 3-4lbs and your BF% has gone up then adjust your diet. if you're losing adjust. Same thing. Like I said you're going to gain fat. And as far as newb gains go it depends. I would say you'll feel a difference right away. At least I do if I take some time off. The first thing you'll notice is how sore you are. I feel like I see a difference in how I look after a couple weeks in. It may take a while to see a big difference. If I were you I would take some measurements now and then in a month and you'll see a big difference. Same with the pictures. But how much you'll gain is tough to say.
