Photo's and a bit a of problem - Thursday, February 07, 2008 2:56 PM ( #1 )
Ok so im a first time poster , but long time reader.
Flicking through your topics i havent really come across what im after.

I used to have a bit of an eating problem , nothing serious just put me in hospital for a couple of months , i lost about 1 stone and went down to 8 stone ish , ( im 18 ) , I got myself back on track and started gaining weight , and started going to the gym.

I enjoyed it because i could see some results , and my best mate adviced i buy a protein supplement and it would do me loads of favours , so i did , i brought myself some Cytogainer.
http://www.bodytemple.co.uk/cytogainer-6lb/buy/472/

I got to 9 stone , then i started training.
After 6-7 months i weigh just under 10 stone ( 140 pounds )
And im finding it really hard to put weight on , i eat a ton of food , of the correct foods may i add not just crap.

I just want to put on alot of muscle mass and size as soon as i can , because i still feel like im in a kids body when i could be so much more and its frustrating , not seeing the results you want de-motivates you which makes you slack , and i dont want to be doing that , anyway , pictures so you can judge for yourself.

If you are asking how to get bigger, the answer would be to eat a lot, train, and be patient. Men start to really fill out in their 20s, so you'll get a kick here in the next couple years. Make sure your habits are good (eating well, not missing workouts) and you'll see gains.

hehehe you sound like me when I first started training. Desperately checking around the internet for how to gain weight.. Even looked up steroids etc.. anything I could do to gain weight. You know whats funny? The most simple answer to my own question was food. Like me you "think" you eat alot, But compared to someone like my self you may only be eating about 1/2 - 1/4 what I eat in a day. Right now you don't understand what a lot is, if you did you would see about 1 - 2.5lbs gains per week.

Your training probably needs work to but I don't know because I don't know you..

Write down what you eat in a single day. Also write down what your training schedule looks like, Write everything down so we can see it.

This brings back memories when I was your age I was 150lbs or less at 6'1. I could also see the tendons coming out of my wrist / forearm. that round ball poping out of my wrist, My elbow joint looked big because my arms were so skinny, collar bones popping out of my neck. On another note I like your shape and see a lot that could be accomplished with it, your right you do have a lot of potential.

Where is the rest of it? on what days do you do what? Yeah your work out needs alot of work. To start you need to do more reps 8 - 12 will stimulate hypertrophy. Look up hypertrophy on line to get a better understanding of it. Lets just say hypertrophy = bigger muscles.

Also are you training your legs?

I can tell we got some major work to do

Your not eating enough. Let me give you a tip, carbs is what you want! You need protein to but you don't want your protein to over due your carbs. You also need some good fats, throw almonds into that mix.

So here are your bulking materials, Potatoes, white rice, Pasta, "SOME KIND OF PROTEIN SUPPLEMENT WITH A LOT OF CALORIES SUCH AS MUSCLE MILK" oatmeal, Cottage cheese, Chicken, Steak, "some fruit" throw a banana into that protein shake and 2 table spoons of peanut butter. wheat bread, Peanut butter!!

If you can't fit in 6 meals like you said you have school, Then put two plates in front of your face and don't leave until you have wiped it out.. Don't waste food never put the food in the trash, Eat how you lift "Hard core!"

Potatoes, white rice, Pasta

BTW lets say these are the key so consume a lot of these But not by them self always throw veggies / fruit / good fats into the mix. Good fats come from leafy vegetables / Nuts.

The metabolism slows down as you age.  Some slow down alot in their early 20's some in their mid 20's.  Muscles also mature as you get older.  I know scrony kids that don't even work out that turned 21 - 22 and they put on about 10 - 20lbs.   I also know skinny guys who got fat/skinny by their late 20's.

Remember by fat skinny I am talking about most of the general population.  Fat stomach, skinny arms, narrow shoulders, saggy chest.

Varka I weigh about 145lbs (so about 5lbs heavier than you) and I eat 3-4 times what you eat in a day lol  You need to work out how many calories you need for bulking exactly with a calculator you can find on the net (also on this site), then go to www.fitday.com and build a meal plan. Seriously eat more, a lot more.
