No, black peper does not.

But it is said that the capsaicin in hot peppers, like chile peppers, can increase metabolism. Capsaicin has been used medicinally for centuries.

They also increase the amount of time you ****.  I wouldn't advise eating a lot of peppers (from an unrelated experience).

Red, green, and yellow really don't have much capsaicin. The more of that stuff, the hotter the pepper and more it "could" increase your metabolism. The amount of capsaicin in a pepper is measured by the Scoville heat rating.

Here is a list of a bunch of peppers and their Scoville Units.
http://www.hotsaucehq.com/Scoville-heat-rating.html

As for other foods that increase metabolism, yes there are plenty...green tea, berries, EFAs, etc...do a search and you'll find a bunch.

the peppers also force you to drink more water, which in turn makes you fuller, quicker. aside from water's other, obvious benefits.
