RE: f the police - Saturday, October 20, 2007 11:09 PM ( #31 )
I had the same situation with my parents too. I wasn't fat but I always had that stomach and a little fat on the side (you might call it chubby). My mom always told me that I'll be one of those people with belly sticking out when they're old and I'll never be fit, mostly because I ate everything there was to food. At 16 I started working out I saw progress and so did my parents, well now they are proud of me and I'm not that chubby guy anymore.

So, forget what everyone says and stick to what you think you can and want to do/achieve.
Its not what you know, its what you can do that counts!

Being a parent of 4 kids.. two girls and two boys.. I certainly understand how it's frustrating from the parents side when one of your kids gets a wild idea and dives head first into something.. but I have to admit.. I'm a little shocked when I hear these stories about your parents being against your decision to weight train and eat healthy... This is totally bizarre???

Now with that said.. some of the crap you guys post on here it's obvious you're not little angels that go around drinking whey shakes and sipping olive oil between workouts..and possibly you're not telling the entire story regarding why your parents are giving you a hard time.. Often parents use something they know you really want against you in a way to retaliate back against you..

I know if I found out any of my minor children posted some of the stuff that's been posted in out of bounds.. DBB.com would be history for them, period, end of story...

Weight training and a healthy diet is great.. I'm sure this isn't the case for everyone but unless you're parents live that same lifestyle.. it would sure be an easy way for them to get under your skin when you're doing other things that they don't approve of.. and reading throught the out of bounds forum.. I can clearly see alot of that goes on..

Although I totally disagree with this and think it's a horrible thing to do.. some parents don't see it that way and take the easy way out and chose to make things more difficult by giving you a hard time over something they know you really enjoy.. like weight training and eating healthy..

I think it's all about meeting in the middle.. as long as you're a minor and living under their roof.. you have to comply with their wishes.. if you want to keep your healthy lifesytle and continue to train.. try to comply with their wishes.. and make it a win win situation...

Although this may not apply to all of you guys.. I'm sure it does to some..
There is never enough time to do everything, but there is always enough time to do the most important thing

my advice is to explain it and if they still ignore you and make fun of u then focus on your training and get jacked and then they'll shut up for good and start praising u...
and evry1'll  ask u for tips...

i showed off yesterday in front of my dad, my friend, and my grandfather.

my grandpaw was trying to pull some wire fence type stuff out of the ground. my dad and i were watching him struggle. he made a loud noise, then told me to hook up the chain on back of the lawnmower and pull it out the ground. (you see, my dad and i clean my grandpaw's yard b/c he jus doesnt care bout it anymore. it is in need of major cleaning!) so i try to see if i can pull it out the ground. then half of it comes out b/c i pull it so hard my dad says, yea lets see what all that working out has done for you! then my grandfather says, jus pretend ur at the gym. lol i keep pullin and pullin and it eventually all comes out. they look at me like i would be tired and all red in the face. but i wanted to do more. then my dad says sumthing bout me being a mule or something. lol

so they see how i am stronger and sh!t. i do more stuff than my dad does! he must feel bad. i use to always ask him for help to lift something, now he asks me for help! ha ha!
