hi
i had the similar problem then i consulted one of my buddies here at work who is a pro IFBB bodybuilder (christopher mervyn hannie)

he advised that when i work out and i feel any form of discomfort i should lighten the weights as safety comes first. i took the advice and i have'nt had problems since, infact i'v been applying that throughout most of my body workouts and works like a bomb.
might help for you?, just thought i would share that.
best of luck HULK.JD

yes lighten only for now...

"push and achieve" is a nice way of putting it but remember not push to hard as i mentioned before, safety first, you might just end up hurting yourself really bad.

If you find that  the advice i gave is still not working then you should try consulting your doctor. you might just need to intake the right type of nutrient and then it would solve all your problems

let me know how it goes.
best of luck

"If it hurts, don't do it"

Simple as that. And for the record, flyes are one of the main exercises for rotator cuff impingement. And by your description, you're either going way past the 90 degree parallel, your form is atrocious, or you actually have a legit problem.

I'll post the quote for further abrasive emphasis:

Good. Then just be wary and notice your form. Be self-concious of how long of an angle you lower your arms to, and begin to strengthen the mind-to-muscle connection that so many people on here lack. Once you have established that, everything comes easy.

I think it depends on certain days and what you did different throughout the day that has affected your performance and causes pain during workout. I used to do incline bench press with no problem and I was suppose to go up in reps the next week but when I started doing the warm up, I felt the pain in my shoulders (I don't recall what I did that day) but I kept going and finished the sets. Other exercises didn't bother me as much. The next week everything was fine again, so I think its not necessary to drop in weight may be the muscle is over worked or something, or too much stress which causes pain.
Its not what you know, its what you can do that counts!
