PM Bug? - Saturday, September 20, 2008 1:59 PM ( #1 )
I just got a private message a few minutes ago, I read it, and have no unread PMs in my inbox.  Everytime I click a new window, however, I get a popup that I have a private message.  I'm using the latest Firefox browser and windows XP.

I'm checking with the developer to see what he says. Sounds like a cookie related issue though... you can clear your cookies and cache from DiscsussBodybuilding.com and the error should go away.

Has it only happened these two times? If not, how many times has it happened? How often does it happen (every PM has this popup issue)?

I just heard back from the developer. He said:

I will need additional info from this users: is he setting up certain software (I don't know if such software exists, but it is best to ask) to block automatic ajax call from browser?

Basically, he wants to know if you have any software installed to make web browsing "safer." Some programs on your computer may not work well with our server/software if your computer software thinks our site may be "bad" for your PC. It could be an app on your PC that is designed for safer web browsing, or it could be a feature in something like your Anti-Virus software. So... what apps do you have on your PC that could have something to do with making your PC safer?

It happens with every PM.  Next one I get I'll try clearing my cookies.  Also, I'm not using any sort of program to make the internet safer.  Just the latest Firefox.

It happened to me this morning.  I didn't have multiple windows open, but in Firefox I had several tabs open.  And I do believe I had 2 DBB.com tabs open.

Yeah I believe it only happens when you have more than 1 window or tab opened for dbb.com

I don't have any other DBB tabs open, and it's still happening to me.

edit: Or any other windows open for that matter.

Let me know if it's still happening. I updated the forum today to the latest version which has a bunch of bug fixes (and this may have been one of them).
