P90X Day 1 and Day 30, critique. - Tuesday, May 19, 2009 10:16 PM ( #1 )
It's been a while since I've been active on DB, working out and body building is still part of my life though.

I've started P90X program about a month ago, I don't really follow the program completely, but I do most of it, plus I live pretty much in the hills with lots of trails up and down hill...so I ran about 5 miles worth of trails almost every day, whenever I had time, I lost 10 lbs and probably some strength but gained a lot of endurance and cardio strength.

I am 22 years old, 5'10, and weigh 146 lbs right now.

My goal is to try and get my body fat % as low as I can this summer but not lose muscle.

To be fair, it's only been one month. It's not likely you'll witness a significant difference in muscle density with only one month.

But, I will say I notice more muscle density in the abdominals, I'm about ready to run p90x too, starting tomorrow. The progression looks impressive considering the length of the program is not much longer than it took to film the Cosbys.

Good progression, update us in two months when the routine is over. To be fair, you were pretty lean from the get go!

Would agree w/MVP re the noticable difference in the abs.    Know you want to stay lean but 5'10" and 146....brother I wouldn't go any leaner.

Just a heads up, when you take progression pictures - try to make sure that you use the same pose. For example, some angles of the camera/body can make you look bigger/smaller.

So when day 90 comes around, try to replicate the original poses as much as possible. Ab development has been significant for the minimal time of only 30 days. Keep up the good work, I start p90x today ;-)

Yeah you might be right about going any leaner, but I remember one of my co workers a while ago was 130 lbs and 5% body fat and he was extremely strong.  He would bench press like 285.

Good luck on P90X MVP, its going to be a fun first week lol.

I did Ab Ripper X today, unbelievably brutal. The hardest part wasn't as much as completing the exercises as straightening the legs and stabilizing your body weight only on your butt. Hard stuff.

I agree about the getting leaner, if you bulk up a tad you'd be huge.

That is absolute freakish strength, my personal best at 130 pounds was 155! Now I'm 185 and can bench press 270 (on a good day).

yeah i was doing ab ripper x for a while, and it was intense.  took about a week before i could get through without stopping, and even then the form was off for a while.  one of these days i'd like to try out p90x for real, but i gotta wait til i move out of this place.

this was already said, but yeah your abs look like they might be a little more defined now.  but it could just be the lighting/angles too.  your right quad looks massive for your size, is that just the angle, or what??

keep it up man.  looking foward to the day 90 pics.
