Ouch! - Friday, July 28, 2006 3:08 AM
Well i think i injured myself on the soccer field or lifted too much weight.Either way now i have pain in my right lower peck all the way back to my shoulderblade. It hurts like hell when i breathe deeply also...It started a few days ago and I thought it would go away (i did lift one more time)and the pain was worse.

New soccer season starts in 20 days...any suggestions??

Thanks!
WR

Eat well, and stay rest for a week, see how it feels then. If it still hurts, go see a doc- In the future, don't train hurt.

wow i just typed a big reply and it cancels it...lucky im willing to help and type it out all over again...

if ur muscle is hurting use a heat lamp to help circulation around the problem area youll find instructions on the box if you get 1

Im recovering from a hip problem, during intense soccer training i landed on my hip after a dive (goalkeeper by the way) and i found it hard to lift my leg put boxers on etc for the week, its being about 2-3 weeks and ive rested it (maybe less than i should have because its not too serious but still needs PLEANTY OF REST)

i also found a big help using the "hot and cold" method, take something hot, water bottle, wheat pillow, rice pillow etc. I use a wheat pillow, its a pillow filled with whaet you stick in the microwave and gets really warm, place it on the given area for 15 minites, it may be really hot but aslong as you can stand it an the heat cannot cause any burns its doing you good.

after this get some thing cold(frozen)...ice, vegetables etc, i use a bag of cheap peas thats just for my hip, do the same thing for about 15 minites, the cold is the best and comfiest part, the area becomes quite numb and you dont feel too much coldness around it, and after theres barely any pain but this is just temperary and does not solve the problem immediatly it only compensates to the healing process.

Im not too sure but i think this works because your body responds to the temperature change within the area and trys to heat it up/cool it down using blood flow to the area?  sounds rite to me but i dont know.

Any way, do that 1-2 times a day and get pleanty of rest and you should be good as new. I found hot and cold really has helped me recover from injuries give it a try it's more than likely to work.

Good look

Rest-ARRRRRG

Ok,i spent most of my life as a overwieght couch potato.Ive changed all that now but Ive injured meself (earlier this post).Everyone ive talked to says the same thing ...REST
but it soooooo hard not to train,Im terribly scared that the fat is secretly building up (although so far undetected on my scale) and Ive enjoyed my new life so much. The pain will come back with anything more than very light work tho (bruised rib is the diagnosis).Im trying to get plenty of "right" calories (Im a chef so I have access to plenty of foods) and
Im still taking my Mega Man vitamins.Im on day four of absolutly no training (breathing hard hurts so i cant just exercise another region).Gonna hopefully remain sane for another few days and hopfully it will heal :(.
and NO I dont want cheese with that whine-thanks guys!
