I saw some sites say shipping weight is 65 pounds. That is all I could find though.

Thanks. That really helped with determining the weight of the deadlifts and shrugs.

Yeah thanks, I got one in my garage. I never realised it was that heavy. I hardly use it though. I rest it in the safety catches on my bench and use it for dipping.

My Troy bar weighs in at 50lbs. There`s no set weight for the trap bar. It depends on the manufacturer. Also it depends if it has one pair or two pair of handles. Also, some come in at 7ft long.

Its true, my hexbar has two handles and a "jack 'n' rack" system which consists of a roller and two stands. All together it weighs in at 80lbs/36kg.

From my experiance, it will alter your weight a lot for deadlifts. One time when we had to maxout I really didn't deadlift a lot, but my max out was 3 plates on the hex bar, and I know damn well I could never deadlift 3 plates on a regular olympic bar
5 RM Bench Press: 240 lbs Hang Clean: 225 lbs 16 yrs old 190 lb goal bench by end of football season : 285

It is not the same exercise, if anything it is more similar to squats. yeah they tried to teach us deadlifts were done like that in highschool...they are not. As for shrugs, if you are to do them, do them with a straight bar...they will help you more in regards to actual deadlifting. ORIGINAL: PullUp_hands Oh, I just saw some people doing it and it appeared to me that you'd have a better center of gravity and your shins wouldn't bleed. Does it just alter the lift too much to be efficient? And if not deadlifts, what are hex bars good for? Shrugs?
