Official Petition to Reinstate Out Of Bounds. *Edited*

 I've been going back and forth in PM's with quite a few people, and it has been agreed that a petition needs to be started.

It would be a shame if this thread were deleted since it goes hand in hand with member feedback, and is unprofessional.

The Out Of Bounds section gives the forum a sense of community, without it, there really isn't anywhere for anyone to learn anything about our other members, other than questions they have.

The only way we could have a sense of community here would be off-topic posts in threads, which would clutter the rest of the forum up.

Since crying about it won't really do anything, how about pitching some ideas to make it a more controlled place.  Any suggestions given will be placed below.

Moderators that ONLY moderate the OOB forum.  It's not a big privelage to be able to mod a subsection of a forum, also it doesn't have to be anyone with a degree in kinesics.

All it has to be is someone that's consistently active in the OOB community.  I'm sure anyone here could think of 5 people offhand that would be capable of keeping the section under control.

Since OOB seems to be the black sheep of the forum, if we place people that only mod that section it'll keep the damage down.

But I don't think the issue is convincing Kris we need OOB back, moreso convincing him how we can change it.  Simply asking to put it back isnt enough IMO

signed.  How else are intermidate members going to learn who actually knows what there talking about?  OOB helped me figure out who knows what around here.
 
my suggestion to limit OOB is just to lock/delete more threads that are deemed inapropriate.  people may complain but at least we would still have 90+% of the threads instead of 0.  besides all the stuff that was posted in OOB will eventually start getting posted in other places.

I never thought I would actually care one way or the other but I have to admit, some very interesting topics and often good information were communicated in OOB..

Smoundzou is def my number one choice for mod, provided he wants to do it.

SoccerKing gets my second vote (although the deadly arguments were pushing it on his part)

Twisted is good as well, but he already said he doesn't want to.

yeah, I know you're not trying to compete with DBB... I explained it better in the wtf? thread.

But I really like that idea, it'd be nice to keep our shenanigans separated from the real info... we could keep your forum up for the regulars to talk about other stuff, and just come in here for information. I like having them separated with different rules altogether.

1.) OOB was a GREAT place to hang out. I had so much fun there.

2.) I think you're just making more problems by deleting it... inevitably... the useless threads which DON'T pertain to bodybuilding at all, will eventually show up in every other section due to the fact that there is NO PLACE for useless chit chat. i mean.. c'mon. we already have 2 threads of guys eating cottage cheese and raw eggs (sorry guys, but i was bored)



* I think YET had a PERFECT idea when he mentioned that there could be a few OOB moderators. meaning.. they would mod the OOB section only. We do appreciate what you guys/girls do as mods, and I do realize that it takes a large amount of time to go thru ALL of the threads. OOB just makes it that much more difficult. HOWEVER.. by adding a few OOB mods, they could take the slack off you and mod that section for you and you wouldn't have to visit the OOB forum all the time to check up on things.

anyways.. that's just my 4 cents. I really want OOB back though. I made a lot of friends on there, and now i'm bored again with nothing to do except video myself eating random foods that people find gross. haha

Remember random proboard inspections happen, especially to ones with large traffic (which mine will have if it becomes the OOB portal) and theres little i can do about that, and the rules are stricter than in here, you cant even discuess alcohol etc etc.

I dont know how frequent the random inspections are...but...eh...I dont see it as a permanent solution personally....

Also its nothing special to look at, simple colours etc, trying to brighten up proboards is the worse thing ever, never works, though i can download templates i think...

I need someone whos more proboard savvy to edit loads of settings so it looks nicer really.
