I didnt create the forum to challenge DBB phershan, i simply created it as an "incase" the mods deleted the wtf thread and it became difficult for all members to contact each other, and it would have ended everything, in a war communication is key, im not saying this is war, but imagine a constant deletion of persons and threads relating to OOB, everyone wouldve given up, the forum i created is a portal for discussion if ever that came about, it didnt, but as it appears popular il keep it up, but im sure once OOB comes back itl be shutdown as most will come back here.
Its just a little suggestion, but can people stop slamming mods @_@
I dont think the admins or the mods like it.
I also dont think they like many members who showed a severe amount of immaturity and harsh posting in the wtf thread to then say "il be a moderator!"
After all thats happened do you really think itl need harsh moderation?
We know how far the admins will go now-utter deletion, so our behaviour is going to be brilliant the first few months (albeit new members may post something, but 1 mod can deal with a few newbs doing something stupid)
After them few months, we will of course push some boundaries, humans are like children, always testing the parent to see what they can and cannot do, and they always push boundaries and see how to go about them and how to react to them.
After 6 months itl probably be back to usual again, and another mass deletion.
Were human, its easy to say "i wont do it again" when you dont have the option to even if you wanted to, but like children as soon as the options back, your good behaviour is only temporary.
And yes, we could then moderate it, but i for one when i enter a new forum check out its "lifeline"
If i see that it HAS to be tightly moderated, im put off because
1.Maybe it wont happen on this site (though ive seen it) but new members get treated less decent than others, people say post count is stupid for whos "better" yet we always treat newbs like dirt, and if they try to enter a convo we all go "who the F are you?"
2.Highly moderated forums tend to have "Nazi land" systems, not stereotyping or anything, but all heavily moderated forums ive been to ive been deleted after 5 minutes because
a.I double posted
b.I posted in the wrong sub section of a sub section (something pedantic like that)
c.Because i missed a comma in my sentence
Theyre all true reasons ive been deleted from harsh moderators in forums.
Also this "negative rep temporary ban" system.
Itl be fun when people sign up loads of new accounts and ban all the regulars into temp suspension, especially if you simply go round a mates house so they dont even know who did it
Not saying il do it, but you need to make a system that doesnt have gaping security holes such as that one.
