Hello all, this is my second post on the forum. I just started training this week and would really appreciate any input on my training, supplement, and diet intake. For starters im 6ft and close to 200lbs. I have pretty broad chest and shoulders and my arms are decent size but I have very long arms and this seems like it makes it harder to get them big....anyway...my training schedule is 3-4 days a week with a day rest inbetween. I focus on 2 body parts per workout and lift 20-30 min each time. The schedule im using i found on the internet by someone who is a pro i guess(cant think of his name right now but i can look it up) I started out monday doing chest and triceps, its been 3 days and man my chest is still sore. Is this to be expected? Will i not be sore so much as my body gets used to training? My diet consists of 3 25g whey protein shakes a day, morning, post workout, and before bed. And inbetween I eat high protein foods to try to reach 300g of protein a day but im taking in more around 200-250g. I eat hardboiled eggs about 3-4 a day, around 6 tbl spoons peanut butter, heathy choice tv dinners ranging from 12g-25g protein. And eat meat and fish whenever i can. My supplements are evolution whey protein, mult. vitamin in the morning, I have creatin on the way in the mail, and i eat a tablespoon of coconut oil before bed, I have a bottle of equi-bolan that is a prohormone but i will wait a while and see what my results are before i decide on taking them or not. And i try to drink a gollon of water a day.... Is there any aspect of my training/supps/diet I should change or does this sound alright for a beginer??? Please leave some responses so i know if im doing everything right-thanks

Hi I would suggest increasing the amount of "proper" foods like chicken, fish, beef in all your meals. Try eating 6 meals a day and dont rely so much on supplements for your nutrition. I am tall aswell which means bulking up is always going to take longer as our limbs are longer :P but stick at it, it will come... 3 days to recover from a hard workout can be normal, but if you get your diet and rest up then you should be recovering faster than this :) Hope that helps,

I would suggest that if your a newbie to weight ligting that you start out on a beginner tranning routine hitting compound movements. The basic will get you further than you know. Second most people need about 7 days of rest to get rid of that sore feeling so that is typically normal. Will it go away most likely not. In order to get bigger you must rip the muscle to grow. The more you rip the bigger you get. Though the intensity will subside in the soreness. Next like Hg said try to incorporate more real food fish, chicken, turkey, lean beef. I would try to stay away from tv dinners as much as possible most yield a high sodium content. Your whey protein is fine as well as the times you take it, multi is a must, I would switch to fish oil as its packed omega 3 fatty acid. I strongly recommend staying away from prohormones. They are not necessary. with the proper ligting and nutrition you should not need to take those. Hope this helps

Thanks for the responces. Ive just completed my whole week af splits tonight, I feel great. I definately worked my chest and legs good. I dont feel as much soreness out of my shoulders and bisceps. Should i work them harder? I worked my back out wich was supposed to also work my bi's some and then finished up with bar curls, dumbell curls, then hammer dumbell curls. I know biceps are a generally small muscle but should i be working them more than this?
