Nutrition of fruit only breakfast and fruit meals - Tuesday, July 15, 2008 9:44 PM
I am trying to have a good nutrition for basketball weighted strength training and all below are for it alone. Strength training above is for a programme called Vertical Jump Bible, VJB.

Is fruit only breakfast good or bad?

If yes, is fruit only breakfast supposed to be done only on workout days?

Add a piece of fruit to every meal I have in a day, including lunch and dinner is it ok? If yes, everyday or only on workout days?

Is the nutrition plan on this page http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=272067 good for my purpose or is it entirely different, particularly for bodybuilding?

well cannot say bad or good but can say I would go with days of oatmeal, or eggs, and days of fruit or combos.

a breakfast that consists of only fruit is not a goodbreakfast!
it's not a complete breakfast!
especially when you take into account that you're doingstrength training for basketball!
i played basketball in high school and in college...istill play...
it's hard to believe that you'd last 2 minutes on thecourts in jersey city or in brooklyn with only fruit in your stomach.
fruit is mostly water!
you can't build any muscle with just fruit...or have anykind of stamina for that matter...
a good breakfast for a basketball player is somethinglike this...
protein shake, egg whites, banana and a bagel.
i'd stay away from the citrus if you're playingbasketball...go with a banana...
seriously tho...if you want to be a good basketball andexpect to run on fruit you're going to be a complete mess...
