I've received it.

Here's the contents of Nutrex Lipo 6:

Synephrine HCL - 20mg
Synthetic 99% Guggulsterones Z&E 1:1 - 20mg
Yohimbie HCL - 3mg
Caffeine Anhydrous USP - 200mg
Bioperine - 5mg

I'm following the directions to take 2 liqui-caps before breakfast and again in the afternoon (probably 30 minutes before a workout).

The first thing I'm noticing after taking just 2 caps this morning is possible heart palpitations

It might not be any more then a cup of coffee. I guess I'm just more "aware" right now since I started this product.

Well after really only 1 day of taking the stuff...

I QUIT

The symptoms above went away. I also don't feel like I'm having an asthma attack anymore.

What really prompted me to quit? Well, I've been doing Cardio Coach for the last couple of weeks and I really am having fun. I love it. But after taking this stuff, my heart rate was already so high, I couldn't possibly keep it within the target zones anymore. I mean, Sean (cardio coach) would tell me to take my exertion to a level 3 zone and just by sitting on the damn bike, I was at level 3.

I'm sorry, but I didn't think taking my heart rate up to 200 bpm (beats per minute) was a good idea. So there was no way I could follow my target zones on this stuff. It just threw it off. I had the worst cardio day because I felt like my heart was beating way too fast yet I wasn't really trying very hard and I didn't feel like I was doing anything.

Just sitting there was enough to take me to a zone 3.

Once I quit. I did my cardio again.

Totally fine. Back to normal and I could control my various zones.

Update:

For the record, I do not believe this product had anything at all to do with an asthma symptom. I've not taken it since and yet I still have that feeling.

No point in taking this. I can do better just exercising. And it's less frustrating.

Follow this link to Medical News Today and you'll find a lot of people like myself who've had serious and long lasting side-effects from this taking Lipo-6. If you've had similar reactions, I urge you to contact Joe Johnson who has filed the class action lawsuit against Nutrex.

Good article but I disagree ONLY one a single point.

That point being, the consumer has some responsibility to do a little research before ingesting a pill.

I know this isn't entirely realistic but since the FDA does not regulate the industry (it used to) label claims can be pretty wild and side effects do not need to be listed like they would with a perscription drug.

I've said SEVERAL times on this website, my eNewsletter, my blogs and podcasts, that before taking anything, head over to SupplementWatch.com and look at the ingredients and see what the deal is.

My Lipo-6 experience was crappy as well.  I had heart palpatation and quit immediately after the 2nd use.  However, I did do my quick research on SupplementWatch.com and I know it contained substances similar to Ephedrine and such.

Now I'm not blaming the guy who had this episode.  That truly blows.  And I think this industry would be better served with a better labeling system.

But consumers (those who get this that is) need to understand that just buying a product and taking it is not proven to be anything.  You need to do a little research before hand.  But how many people do that?

I'd say less then 5%!

More people want to know if Lipo-6 works then if the stuff in it works.

Nobody cares what's in anything (except us few).  They all want to know if it works.  Kris once brought up a good point.  He said something like:

How many times do you see the question Does BSN work?  Rather then, do these ingredients in BSN work?

Several!

There's 2 things to be learned from the link above:

  1. Never, ever take any product without researching the ingredients.  Many if not all supplement companies will post what is in them.  At least enough of them that you can get an idea of what it's about.
  2. If you don't feel good taking a supplement (like I did with my Lipo-6) then quit!  Throw it away and be done.  Do not continue. Do not post about is this okay?  If you don't like how you feel, toss it.  No questions asked.
I know this isn't entirely realistic given the world's mentality that hey, I bought it, it must be safe.

My only hope is that your story, along with my 2 points, can help just one person from taking the same path.

Best of luck!  No ill will towards the guy who had the experience.  I'm just glad I threw mine out.

If you read the follow up opinions following the article you'll see posts from abut 15 people who've all had negative side-effects from Lipo-6 some of them life-threatening.

And if you've had a bad reaction to the drug you really need to report it on the FDA website otherwise you're just contributing to the lies that Nutrex tells about how safe this drug is.

those ppl are bums. get off your fat ass's and get a job rather then being lazy and trying to get money you dont deserve. if they weren't lazy cows in the first place they wouldn't have had to take diet pills to begain with. my favorite piece of information is the claims of documentation of 100's of deaths as a result of ephdrine. these ppl are just as bad as the ones that sued McDonalds for making them fat. you know what, they may be the same ppl.

Personally thats how I feel about all fat burners for the most part. They all end up being like weak crank they speed the user up and tweak them out so they don't eat and then they lose weight but usually its not in a healthy way.
