Not Gaining Weight
-
Sunday, August 13, 2006 12:09 AM
Ok, I've being working out for about 1 month now. The thing is I've only gained about 0.5kg so approximately 1.1lb. Before doing weights, I was having about 3 square meals with a very small breakfast. Now since doing weights 4 times a week, I eat about 5 times a day, around 2300-2400 calories a day or maybe less as I don't always have time to eat and my weight as you can tell (47kg, 103lb) is very light. This happened like last time during summer. I had a 4 month period off, and I was doing weights as well but not as intensive and I only gained 3 kilos within the 4 months. Does this mean I'm not eating enough? I've calculated so that I eat 500 calories above my maintainence level but I seem to be gaining weight at a very slow pace. Btw, I have Crohn's Disease so I'm not sure if that could be effecting it.

if your diet is in check the only thing that could be holding you back from gain weight is that your burning off too many calories thus bringing you back to a maintenance level of calorie absorbtion. if you have a active lifestyle add another couple hundred calories into your diet and see what happens.
