No one over 35 here? - Monday, January 22, 2007 9:31 AM ( #1 )
I'm new here, but what seems to be a lack of participation in this forum is interesting to me. Is it that there aren't many users here in this age bracket?

Or that age doesn't much matter... Scott "Old Navy" Hults is over 60 years and he doesn't even participate here much.

I think this forum was a good idea at the time, but you've just pointed out it may not be that useful anymore.

Does age matter?

Yes, age matters, but not in a boring way.  Just lower testosterone, maybe longer recoveries as far as bodybuilding goes--at least maybe initially.

Us old folk like to think we can keep up with the whippersnappers.

Did you see Old Navy's Widow Maker Power Workout?

Holy crap dude.  He defied age with every rep and set!

Age is only a temporary restraint on bodybuilding!  As Scott keeps reminding me.

I became exhausted reading everyone of his posts during the Widow Maker.  I'm so glad he on to the only slightly-less exhaust whole body workout.

Hi y'all :)

To answer the original question... the "over 35 forum" was what piqued my interest in this entire discusison group.  As I mentioned in a previous topic, I'm trying to build a bit if genetics will allow, and hope that others who have been down the same path will share their lessons learned.  Why reinvent the wheel?

As a result of peeking into the "over 35" stuff, I've found several interesting discussions and I've taken the advice of a few of them and hope to share MY results soon.  Here's hoping :)

See ya!
Joe

Since we're tossing out ages here, I'm 54 -- just four years into my second-half.

Marc David :: Does age matter?

Not as much as many think. As Joe pointed out above, stimulating a sleeping forum like this can spread the word that middle-aged (or beyond) doesn't have to be something that devoid of real muscular growth and physical intensity.

Ha ha ha ha!  Thanks!  You know what they say...  "35 is the new 21"

What's that?  They're not saying that?  Oh.  Well, it was worth a shot

I'm 42 almost 43(in april) other than the occasional 13 year old who fills our e-mail accounts with useless drivel.....I have really enjoyed this forum...it helps in many ways ...not only the wealth of knowledge...but helpful in staying motivated as well.

My wife and i are both members and really enjoy "the over 35 club"

Marc, this is still a useful forum and I really enjoy all it has to offer.

Plus VEG is about to join the club so now we'll have a celeb on board...LOL

Come . . . join us . . . you'll still be a pretty boy!

Really, dreading middle age is silly, now that I've hit it.  I feel like at 40 I'm in my prime.  As I told a coworker, yeah, I tire more easily, some adipose has recorded its deed in my midsection, but these things can be changed (and are being so).  In the meantime, I have finally at least some decent life experience, my career has stabilized, and I'm in a terrific relationship (and feel like I can maintain it!).

Maybe I'll finally be old when I hit 70 . . . or 80 . . . 90??

Excuse me while I go get my skateboard to go mess up sidewalk and city traffic. . .

Yo, bro... a rocking chair is where you sit when you play your air guitar, and an afghan is a guy who lives in the Himalaya Mountains.
